Out Of The Box Thinking In Art

Today I'm going to show you some exceptional artworks. I'm going to select some interesting pieces from many exhibitions, just to make it more interesting.

Out Of The box.jpg

I find these types of posts more interesting and entertaining too as it makes people to pick one or multiple artworks that have nothing to do with each other, they don't connect with each other in any way.

Lausanne Dream

I bet there's no one that would have guessed the title of the artwork. Please don't feel bad as I had no idea what it was either and when I saw the title, my jaw dropped as there's no such thing as Lausanne dream. For those of you who don't know what Lausanne is (I bet there are quite a few here):

Lausanne is the capital and largest city of the Swiss French-speaking canton of Vaud, in Switzerland. The Olympic capital, it is a hilly city situated on the shores of Lake Geneva, about halfway between the Jura Mountains and the Alps, and facing the French town of Évian-les-Bains across the lake. Lausanne is located (as the crow flies) 51.7 kilometres (32 miles) northeast of Geneva, the nearest major city. The Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland convenes in Lausanne, although it is not the de jure capital of the nation.

If you look at the artwork, it is colorful, which is good as dreams can be very colorful as well. I like that it is made of genuine leather, which means quality. Switzerland is quality in itself as it's one of the best places to live at and the most expensive as well.

I'm curious what you can tell em about it. What do you see here?

Zoltán Gergely - No Title

Last time I gave you some riddles and some of you had fun. This time I'm going to do the same. Here's the first one. This artwork had no title, so you can start guessing what it is or what you see here. Your guess is as good as mine, so let's have some fun.

Robert Kristó - Reborn In The Storm

It's a really stormy and dark graphics. It is definitely interesting from artistic point of view as you have to think how you're going to achieve this image, just by using coal or graphite, but it's a bit too dark for my taste.

Robert Kristó - Blue Sky Attraction

I'll let this one to you as well. Let's see what you can tell me about it.

Barnabás Bara - Invisible Force

This time I can see what the artist meant, or I just have the impression I can. Anyway, if you have a closer look, this lovely wooden piece looks like a storm, or a hurricane (at least that's how I see it). What I love about it is the lovely color, but there's something I love more and that's the fact that this piece was made from a single piece of wood. This means the artist took a big block of wood and carved this beauty out of it.

Barnabás Bara - ... Sun

I've never had any difficulties giving you the title in English, till now. This is tough, so I'm going to try to explain it to you. We need the sun to live, I think no one can question that. No sun, no life. So basically the sun is keeping us alive, you can say that. So this artwork is that sun.

It is from the same artist and it is as mysterious, sophisticated and gorgeous as the previous one. It is carved from one block as well.

The reason I admire these wooden sculptures so much is the complexity of them. The artist has to have a very good imagination and see the sculpture in 3D, before it is made. Imagine looking at a big block of wood and seeing this carving what you see here. That's what the artist sees basically. If you have that ability, you can create things, but not many can honestly.

Barnabás Bara - ... Sun II.

Yes, you can probably guess, this is another sculpture from the same artist, on the same theme, just named II. As the previous ones, this is also carved from one block.

Árpád Szabó - Snooker

This is an unusual artwork and brilliant too. It is made of electronic components, I bet there will be a few of you who knows exactly what these are. The title is snooker for a good reason. Those balls are connected like you'd hit the balls at the table. or the balls would hit one another. It's a genius idea.

Árpád Szabó - Planetarium

Another artwork from the same artist, made of electronic components. This one is a bit more simple and I'd say the majority of it is made the traditional way and only the bottom is "electronics". I love the idea and how the artist chose the theme. Brilliant.

Let me know what you think about these masterpieces. I'd love to read how you see them and if you like any of them.
