Today I'd like to show you the rest of the photos from the art exhibition, where the 11th grader exhibited their work. There are a few of you who have enjoyed my previous posts about the exhibition and most likely you didn't expect, what's coming today. You're going to be surprised, but don't take my word for it, see it for yourself.
At first I thought it's their year end work, their exam work, but many of them have several paintings, so most likely it's a product of a year or more. Anyway, let's get started, shall we?
In my previous posts, we agreed that colorful is one of the keyword we can use when describing the paintings and this goes for all of them, without exception. This portrait is colorful as well, but if you can put aside the colors and look at the lady's portrait, you can see how lifelike it is. Look at that posture, her look and her face. It's amazing in my opinion.
Here the background is a bit too colorful for me, too much if you like but if you focus on the portrait, you see the value. Look at those features, the light and shadows. I'd say everything is at its place. Love the determined look of the guy.
This is the third painting, portrait with somehow similar background, like it would be quarrel and I have to ask if this was a requirement or their individual choice. This is a rhetorical question as no one is going to answer it, so let's focus on the portrait, which is a very good one. Look at her eyes and her look. It looks so natural and the whole face is so lifelike. At least that's how I see it.
My first thought here was, it looks like a fairy tale, maybe a fairy in the woods?
Again, look at the face, look at the eyes and tell me there's no talent here. Look at the light on the model. I wish I could paint something similar, as quality is concerned, but not in this lifetime.
Here's a different one, I'd say from a different century as well. I'd place the model in the middle ages, where kings and queens were ruling. I don't know if the second face is a reflection in the mirror as mirrors appeared late and were only available for the wealthy ones, but the concept it great and the execution is lovely as well. I love how the painter chose the colors, those orange-brown shades go exceptionally well with the blue-dark purple. One thing to note, the main face is so light, while the second is orange, to highlight the main one. Excellent idea.
I bet if you'd hang this painting in The Louvre or Musée d’Orsay, not many would know this was not painted by a famous, 18th, 19th century painter. I'm running out of words here, but this is absolutely brilliant. Look at the face of the young lady and if you look carefully, you can see the geometric light crossing the lady's face and body. This is new to me, as I've never seen anything like this. I suppose the painter had the dame assignment as the previous ones, but she chose to make it soft and light. I'd be really happy to own this.
I remember last year there was a painting that I wanted to buy, but again, who has space for all the paintings they like, right?
Maybe looking at them one next to the other can give you an idea about their talent. Which one would you choose from here? I already revealed my choice :)
Look at this photo. I was standing there and looking at the paintings, just like last year and the year before. So much talent at a very young age!
At this point I tend to believe, the assignment was to paint something geometrical and from another century, from the past of course, not the future. The top one looks very religious, which is a first as the previous ones were not indicating religious sides, or I misread them.
The bottom one looks like a scene from a movie, who's action takes place in the Middle Ages. Look at the faces and the geometrical slides of the face on the left. I'd love to have this on my wall as well,I think I would look at it all day, but again ... pain, pain, pain. But at least I have the photos and can revisit them every time I want.
I thought I can post them all today, but I underestimated the amount left, so stay tuned as there will be another post coming, with the rest of the beauties left. They deserve to be immortalized on the blockchain.
Let's see what you think about these paintings and let me know if you have a favorite. Waiting patiently :))
