Apparently writing on paper makes you old school and not in the good sense of the word. It also makes you kind of a retard, who can't keep up with the world, that's what some people think.
Not long ago I had a conversation with someone who's using post-it notes to write down data, relevant information, facts and I'm not sure if he's trying to make this look less shameful or he really believes it is shameful to use pen and paper, but he always says this shows his age and how old-school he is. He's not even 40 by the way.

It annoys me a lot to see this mentality and had a chat with him to see if he realizes not everything has to be digital, not everything has to be done digitally and there are other reasons for using pen and paper, like in my case, not just because you're old and retarded digitally. He's jaw dropped when I revealed my story and hope he is able now to see things differently and own up his choice. You don't have to call yourself old and stupid just because you are accustomed to handwritten notes.
Before I go on, I have to let you know, that if you (by mistake) will see me at a Hive event or we meet at another event, I mean conference type, where programs, apps, dapps, projects are presented, I'm 100% sure you'll see me with a notebook and a pen in my hand. Why? Because I like to take notes. Yes, notes on paper. I'm not digitally illiterate, I can assure you that, but when it comes to taking notes, I still prefer pen and paper and I'll tell you why.
The simple reason is, ... well, first let me ask you why are you taking notes in the first place? I do it because I consider the data or information I'm writing down important and useful, so I'd like to have it in the future. Which automatically means I want to keep it in mind. And this is where pen, paper, and my handwriting comes in the picture.
What so many don't know about me is that I have a very good visual memory and most of the times, the handwritten paper appears in front of my eyes and I can read what I wrote on the paper, without actually seeing it. This is a huge gift, an ability or call it whatever you like. It helps me a lot and if I am labeled old-fashioned for this, so be it.
During my university years, my notes were sought after because so many said these are easy to read and learn from. My notes were obviously for myself, to help me study faster and more efficiently, but was glad others were happy to use them as well.
These days I see trying to fit the mood and the expectation of the masses is more important than being yourself and walking your own path. Adapting to the trend, adopting what others do, in order not to be outside the line, of the so called "social requirements" is what many do, regardless of the costs.
I don't understand them honestly. They want independence, freedom, fame most of all, wealth as well of course (but this is a topic for another day), yet they are doing what the crowd does, even if it's not good for them.
When I see such cases, especially those who are so vocal when they see you doing something different and not miss the occasion to attempt to shame you, just because you're different, I always think of how different the world would be if the hers would try to use their heads and figure out a way to be better, what and how they could do to get ahead in life, on their own.
We are all wired in a different way and having some skills that sets you apart from the pack can take you far, but of course, it takes some courage to be different, in the first place, then some dedication and effort too, to discover you could do things differently.
