"Chukwu Ebere" is not all that a popular song, it is a song that we sing during "prayer of the faithful" in my church. But then, it is a calm and spirit filled song. Performing it today, I will be giving it a special touch. It is originally suppose to be an Igbo song, but I will be doing something special with it today. I will be freestyling the song; and at some point, I will even add English to the original lyrics. I hope it comes out well.
The song Chukwu Ebere is a song of petition; but beyond that, it is a song that acknowledges God as the one who knows our condition the best, and as the one who knows how best to help us. For me, I think this is the best form of petition, telling the God who knows you better than yourself to help you were you need him the most. I will be performing this song today in my own way, and I ask that you sing along with me as much as can.
