Within our project Escape Team Game we made the Microgame "Apple Catcher" where we worked the art of the environment that surrounds the player with the theme of the global problem of water contaminated by pesticides and heavy metals. "Apple Catcher" now be downloaded from our website can and we are holding a contest within Whaleshares thanks to the support of the BBCas and ProjectMilkBox projects.
Every corner inside "Apple Catcher" is contaminated, the player will find a turbid black river due to the constant barrels of chemical waste floating over water and the garbage that is trapped in river borders.
Within this environment, which unfortunately does not distance itself from the real state of many rivers around the world, the player character has a history that is related to what we want to do in the development of our MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) Escape Team Game, for that reason we made this cinematics to give shape to the story that players will experience within Escape Team Game:
Unfortunately within the Cinematic we could not tell the full story of the character's arrival to "Apple Catcher". The world is so collapsed inside Escape Team Game that "Apple Catcher" is an "OASIS" for her, which gives her a bit of hope to find the rocket that will take her out of the apocalypse of Earth. This is the literary version of the story:
Elizabeth´s crossing
It almost does not rain anywhere on the planet, there are only clouds of dense black dust that cover soot everything they touch. The seas, lakes and rivers have completely dried up. All forests and jungles have been razed. The only living creatures that remain are infected or mutant.
I do not know what day it is today, many have passed since the last time I saw normal humans ... I can not order my thoughts, maybe three days have passed since I managed to eat something: coal cockroaches! These insects are the only beings that have managed to adapt because now the rats are mutants, so many laboratory practices with these animals made them indestructible and inedible.
The last people I spoke with had formed an Escape Team, they told me the story of a small oasis protected by the mountains. After many days, weeks maybe, I found it full of garbage and rubbish, the dark and polluted river is already dead. But there are apples ... most likely they are also contaminated ... I hear some birds, many years ago I did not hear one.
If it is true that the oasis exists, or what remains of it ... then the history of the rocket to travel to the colony on Mars must be true. I'll risk picking up some apples, and if they do not poison me, maybe I can get to the rocket, but first I have to find three more people to form an Escape Team ... I just can't make it alone.
To make the contest within Whaleshares we made a ranking table within our website to ensure the transparency of the tournament and we will also conduct literary competitions around the environmental issues immersed in "Apple Catcher".
During the month of December (2018) and January (2019) we will continue giving prizes with "Apple Catcher". The small map we made for this Microgame will be present in Escape Team Game, as well as the other microgames that we will be doing to share with the Steemit and Whaleshares communities.
