Hoy quiero compartirles algo que más que un proyecto, fue un invento. Muchas veces tenemos bolsas de friselina que con el tiempo se ensucian o se llenan de moho. En esos casos solemos tirarlas, pero
¿qué pasa con las asas, que muchas veces quedan intactas?
Se me ocurrió que esas tiras podrían transformarse en algo útil y creativo. Entre varias ideas que se me vinieron a la mente, hoy quiero mostrarles cómo reutilizarlas para hacer posavasos únicos y originales.
Materiales necesarios
• Asas de bolsas de friselina (de al menos 32 cm cada una). • Hilo (puede ser de color o blanco). • Tijeras. • Máquina de coser (o aguja, si prefieres coser a mano). • Plancha y un paño de tela.
Paso a paso
- Recopilar las asas. Guarda las tiras de las bolsas que ya no uses.
- Preparar las tiras. Si algunas están arrugadas, plánchalas colocando encima una tela. La friselina no se derrite si no la pones en contacto directo con la plancha. Con este truco, en lugar de dañarse, queda lisa y lista para coser.
- Cortar y medir. Cada posavaso necesita una tira de 32 cm. La cortamos a la mitad y con 3 tiras ya tenemos 6, que unidas forman un rectángulo de 16 cm de ancho por 10 cm de alto.
- Coser. Une las tiras una al lado de la otra con costura recta o zigzag. Yo elegí hilo blanco con puntada zigzag, pero puedes usar colores para darle un toque divertido.
- Repetir el proceso.
Con este mismo procedimiento hice 6 posavasos. Puedes jugar con combinaciones de colores o mantenerlos en un tono uniforme.
Obtuve posavasos prácticos, resistentes y, sobre todo, diferentes. Además, pensé que la misma idea puede aplicarse para hacer tapetes de platos u otros accesorios.
Quizás no tienen el acabado perfecto, pero sí la esencia de algo original, sostenible y con mucha intención de reutilizar.

It occurred to me that those strips could be transformed into something useful and creative. Among several ideas that came to mind, today I want to show you how to reuse them to make unique and original coasters.
Materials needed
• Friselina bag handles (at least 32 cm each). • Thread (can be colored or white). • Scissors. • Sewing machine (or needle, if you prefer to sew by hand). • Iron and a cloth.
Step by step
- Collect the handles. Save the handles from bags you no longer use.
- Prepare the strips. If any are wrinkled, iron them with a cloth over them. The interfacing will not melt if you do not put it in direct contact with the iron. With this trick, instead of being damaged, it will be smooth and ready to sew.
- Cut and measure. Each coaster needs a 32 cm strip. Cut it in half and with 3 strips you will have 6, which when joined together form a rectangle 16 cm wide by 10 cm high.
- Sew. Join the strips side by side with a straight or zigzag stitch. I chose white thread with a zigzag stitch, but you can use colors to add a fun touch.
- Repeat the process.
I made 6 coasters using this same procedure. You can play around with color combinations or keep them in a uniform tone.
I ended up with practical, durable, and, above all, unique coasters. I also thought that the same idea could be applied to making placemats or other accessories.
They may not have the perfect finish, but they have the essence of something original, sustainable, and with a strong intention to reuse.
