Hoy les contaré algo que vivimos en el mes de Julio, y es que durante ese mes estuvimos a tope con los talleres para celebrar el día del niño pero también fui invitada a participar en una celebración especial para chicas que se llevaría a cabo en un salón de belleza de una chica reconocida en la ciudad de Cabimas. Ella me escribió un día para preguntarme por las sesiones de arte, comentándome cuales eran sus planes. La idea era hacer una fiesta de chicas en el que habrían varias estaciones: maquillaje, peluquería, manicure, además de dulces y si me animaba a participar, mi estación de arte. Me pareció genial la idea, sobre todo porque yo me encontraba en ese proceso de reunir dinero para poder mudarme de local y estos planes me venían como anillo al dedo.Hello Guys!
Today I'm going to tell you about something we experienced in July. During that month, we were busy with workshops to celebrate Children's Day, but I was also invited to participate in a special celebration for girls that would be held at a beauty salon owned by a well-known girl in the city of Cabimas. She wrote me one day to ask about the art sessions, telling me what her plans were. The idea was to have a girls' party with several stations: makeup, hairstyling, manicures, as well as sweets, and if I was up for it, my art station. I thought the idea was great, especially since I was in the process of raising money to move, and these plans were a perfect fit.
Así que acepté y así fue como se me incluyó dentro de esta divertida celebración. Yo no tuve que hacer absolutamente nada, más que darle promoción en mis redes obviamente.
Acercándose el día me confirmaron la asistencia de 14 niñas, cosa que me emocionó muchísimo. ♥ Nos preparamos para nuestro taller y ese día nos fuimos como dos horas antes de la actividad para estar a tiempo y colaborar en lo que hiciera falta.
So I accepted, and that's how I was included in this fun celebration. I didn't have to do anything at all, except promote it on my social media, obviously.
As the day approached, I received confirmation that 14 girls would attend, which thrilled me immensely. ♥ We got ready for our workshop, and that day we left about two hours before the activity to be on time and help out with whatever was needed.
Por supuesto a esta cita llevé a mi hijo para que me ayudara en lo que pudiera necesitar.
Al llegar dejamos nuestras cosas y me fui a un supermercado que quedaba justo al lado del centro comercial, para comprar unas toallitas húmedas en caso de que las niñas necesitaran lavar sus manitos luego de la actividad.
Of course, I brought my son to this appointment so he could help me with anything I might need.
When we arrived, we dropped off our things, and I went to a supermarket right next to the mall to buy some baby wipes in case the girls needed to wash their hands after the activity.
La actividad comenzaba a las 2 de la tarde y ya eran la 1:30 y no habían llegado las mesas, por lo tanto no habíamos podido acomodar nuestras cosas.
Al pasar unos minutos llegaron con los dulces que se les daría a las niñas. Aún estábamos a la espera.
The event started at 2 p.m., but it was already 1:30 p.m., and the tables hadn't arrived, so we hadn't been able to set up our things.
A few minutes later, they arrived with the candy they would give the girls. We were still waiting.
La decoración estaba lista, cuando nosotros llegamos estaban terminado de acomodar las cosas y les ayudamos a dejar todo en su lugar para esperar a las niñas.
Mayor fue nuestra sorpresa cuando llegaron las esperadas mesas. Eran unas mesas súper pequeñas de plástico en las que apenas cabían dos caballetes.
Esto nos generó mucha risa porque no entendíamos a quien se le había ocurrido que este sería un espacio apropiado para este tipo de actividad.
En ese momento la chica que me contactó no estaba ahí y le pasamos una foto de mi hijo para que viera el tamaño de las mesas. Ella se molestó horrible y le reclamó a quienes habían llevado esas mesas, y como pudo buscó con urgencia unas nuevas mesas de un tamaño adecuado.
The decorations were ready; when we arrived, they were finishing arranging things, and we helped them put everything back in place to wait for the girls.
Our surprise was even greater when the long-awaited tables arrived. They were super-small plastic tables that barely fit two easels.
This made us laugh a lot because we couldn't understand who had thought this would be an appropriate space for this type of activity.
At the time, the girl who contacted me wasn't there, and we sent her a photo of my son so she could see the size of the tables. She was terribly upset and complained to the people who had brought those tables, and urgently found new tables of an appropriate size.
Mientras tanto mi hijo y yo estábamos callados sentando en lo que la chica resolvía, por suerte lograron llevar otras mesas a tiempo y las niñas comenzaron a llegar. Nosotros ya teníamos todo acomodado y estábamos esperando a que llegaran todas para comenzar.
En un próximo post les estaré contando como se desarrollo esta actividad. El inicio fue algo complicado, y entiendo perfectamente la rabia de la chica porque son cosas que hacen quedar mal, que estresan mucho pues los organizadores de eventos siempre queremos que todo salga perfecto.
Meanwhile, my son and I sat quietly while the girl sorted things out. Luckily, they managed to bring in other tables in time, and the girls started arriving. We already had everything set up and were waiting for everyone to arrive before we could begin.
In a future post, I'll tell you how this event unfolded. The beginning was a bit complicated, and I completely understand the girl's anger because these are things that make you look bad and are very stressful, since event organizers always want everything to be perfect.
