Hoy les contaré un poco más acerca de la actividad de las máscaras que estuve desarrollando con mis alumnos semanas atrás. Todas las clases trato de hacer actividades diferentes para mantener a los chicos entretenidos y al mismo tiempo motivados. La idea es que vayan aprendiendo a medida que van divirtiéndose probando nuevas actividades. Este nivel lo estamos trabajando con diferentes artistas y esta vez le tocaba a Picasso, quien tiene un estilo cubista bastante cacterístico. La idea es que los chicos hicieran máscaras cubistas de rostros deconstruidos con base de cartón.Hi everyone!
Today I'll tell you a little more about the mask activity I was doing with my students a few weeks ago. Every class I try to do different activities to keep the kids entertained and motivated. The idea is for them to learn while having fun trying new activities. This level is based on different artists, and this time it was Picasso's turn, who has a very distinctive Cubist style. The idea was for the kids to make Cubist masks of deconstructed faces using cardboard.
Por un lado tenía a las chicas batallando con las cajas de cartón para poder recortarlas. Algunas eran algo gruesas y a ellas les costaba un poco poder darle la forma que necesitaban para su máscara.
Por otro lado tenía una alumna que contaba con una máscara que había comprado para pintar y que le pareció una buena idea llevarla para personalizarla con este estilo.
On one hand, I had the girls struggling with the cardboard boxes, trying to cut them out. Some were quite thick, and they were having a bit of trouble shaping them for their masks.
On the other hand, I had a student who had bought a mask to paint and thought it would be a good idea to bring it along to personalize it in this style.
Ese día todas hicieron un trabajo increíble logrando unas máscaras espectaculares. Todas con su toque personal bien marcado. Yo la verdad estaba bien contenta al ver estos resultados.
That day everyone did an incredible job, creating spectacular masks. Each one had their own distinct personal touch. I was truly delighted with the results.
Al día siguiente con el otro turno también estuvimos trabajando con las máscaras y bueno otra batalla con el cartón jajaja yo obviamente ayudaba a los chicos, los orientaba para que supieran como hacer para que fuera más sencillo y entre ellos mismos se daban tips para poder hacerlo mejor. Así fue que lograron darle vida a ese proyecto, que a mi parecer es súper bonito porque los invita a ellos a ser creativos, con un cierto grado de dificultad.
The next day, with the other shift, we were also working on the masks, and well, another battle with the cardboard, haha. I was obviously helping the kids, guiding them so they knew how to do it more easily, and they gave each other tips to improve. That's how they brought that project to life, which I think is really great because it encourages them to be creative, with a certain degree of difficulty.
