Hace algunas semanas les compartí el día que entregué este lindo tejido pero no les he hablado aún de lo que fue el proceso para poder tejerlo. Hoy se viene la historia detrás de tan curioso personaje tejido. Hace un tiempo una prima me comentó que habían unos personajes bien chistosos que había sacado un grupo de música coreana. Yo muy alejada de todos estos gustos no tenía ni idea y luego de verlos la verdad me ofrecieron unos personajes bastante particulares, por no decir feos jajaja. Resulta que son super populares entre los jóvenes y un día hablando con mi amigo, a quien le regalaría al peluchito, me enteré que era súper fan de este personaje llamado Tata, con cabeza de corazón. Cómo quería hacerle un agrado, se me ocurrió tejer un pequeño personaje amigurumi. Yo sé tejer pero nunca había hecho un amigurumi tan grande. Busqué y encontré un vídeo que se veía bastante sencillo, con un resultado ideal, así que tomé mis hilos y me puse manos a la obra. Por supuesto documenté el proceso. En este caso no será un tutorial, más bien les contaré mi experiencia mientras lo iba tejiendo.Hello Guys!
A few weeks ago I shared with you the day I delivered this cute fabric but I haven't told you yet what was the process to be able to knit it. Today I'm going to tell you the story behind this curious knitted character. Some time ago a cousin of mine told me that there were some funny characters that a Korean music group had released. I was very far away from all these tastes I had no idea and after seeing them the truth offered me some pretty particular characters, not to say ugly hahaha. It turns out that they are very popular among young people and one day talking to my friend, to whom I was going to give the stuffed animal, I found out that he was a big fan of this character called Tata, with the head of a heart. As I wanted to give him a treat, I decided to knit a little amigurumi character. I know how to knit but I had never made such a big amigurumi. I searched and found a video that looked quite simple, with an ideal result, so I took my yarns and got down to work. Of course I documented the process. In this case it won't be a tutorial, but rather I'll tell you about my experience while I was knitting it.
Inicié por a cabeza, tal y como se mostraba en el vídeo. Lo bueno de todo esto era que los colores a utilizar eran súper básicos y los tenía a disposición para que quedara perfecto.
Tejí las tapitas de la parte superior del corazón. Al terminar la primera me di cuenta que el muñeco sería más grande de lo que pensé, pues aunque en el vídeo comentaba la chica que estaba tejiendo con un grosor de hilo similar al mío, a ella se le veía mucho más pequeño.
Por suerte yo tenía el material suficiente para poder desarrollar el proyecto.
I started at the head, as shown in the video. The good thing about all this was that the colours to use were super basic and I had them available to make it perfect.
I knitted the tops of the heart. When I finished the first one I realised that the doll would be bigger than I thought, because although in the video the girl who was knitting with a similar thickness of yarn to mine commented that it looked much smaller to her.
Luckily I had enough material to be able to develop the project.
Al unir ambas tapitas confirmé lo que les mencionaba anteriormente. Me gustaba como se iba viendo.
En el cuaderno que tenía al fondo iba anotando la secuencia de puntos para no tener que estar repitiendo una y otra vez el vídeo.
Putting the two caps together confirmed what I mentioned earlier. I liked the way it looked.
In the notebook I had at the back I was writing down the sequence of stitches so I wouldn't have to keep repeating the video over and over again.
Al llegar a la parte donde iba a colocar los ojitos tuve que detenerme pues no los tenía.
Por suerte conversando de esto al día siguiente con una alumna ella me comentó que me podía hacer el favor de comprarlos en Maracaibo.
Así que luego me tocó esperar poco más de una semana para que ella pudiera entregarmelos.
Al tener por fin los ojitos se los coloqué y continúe tejiendo la cabeza. Luego la rellené y cerré el corazón.
When I got to the part where I was going to put the eyes I had to stop because I didn't have them.
Luckily, when I was talking about it the next day with a student, she told me that she could do me the favour of buying them in Maracaibo.
So I had to wait a little more than a week for her to deliver them to me.
When I finally had the eyes I put them on and continued weaving the head. Then I stuffed it and closed the heart.
Tejí la boca y la pegue con silicón frio. Luego con ayuda de una aguja de bordar le hice las cejas al personaje, esta parte me pareció bien chistosa.
I knitted the mouth and glued it with cold silicone. Then with the help of an embroidery needle I made the character's eyebrows, I found this part very funny.
El cuerpito fue complicado de tejer por lo pequeño que era, aún así logré unir las piezas y luego lo rellené. En la parte de atrás tenía unos lunares amarillos. En el tutorial decían que se pintaban pero no me gustó para nada porque el hilo absorbió la pintura.
Por suerte en casa tenía un poco de fieltro amarillo, así que se me ocurrió cortar unos círculos y pegar los con silicón. Definitivamente quedaron mucho mejor.
Luego con mucha paciencia uni la cabeza al cuerpo.
The little body was complicated to knit because it was so small, but I still managed to join the pieces together and then I stuffed it. On the back I had some yellow polka dots. In the tutorial they said that they could be painted but I didn't like it at all because the yarn absorbed the paint.
Luckily I had some yellow felt at home, so I cut some circles and glued them with silicone. They definitely turned out much better.
Then with a lot of patience I attached the head to the body.
Ya para finalizar tejí la capa amarilla y la cosí al cuerpo del pequeño muñeco.
Así logré terminar este personaje. La verdad fue una experiencia que me enseñó mucho, me sorprendió el resultado tan bonito y estaba súper emocionada.
Ya quería entregarlo y por suerte esto ocurrió al día siguiente. Para ser mi primer amigurumi de este tamaño siento que quedó super bien.

Finally I knitted the yellow cape and sewed it to the body of the little doll.
That's how I managed to finish this character. The truth was an experience that taught me a lot, I was surprised by the beautiful result and I was very excited.
I wanted to hand it in and luckily this happened the next day. For my first amigurumi of this size I feel it turned out really well.
