 Debo decir que he adquirido cierta notoriedad en mi comunidad por la relación que tengo con las plantas y algunos me han tildado de loca porque me han escuchado hablarles, susurrarle o regañarlas por enfermarse y no estar bonita.  En mi terraza tengo muchas plantas, aunque he tenido que regalar, porque al mudarnos para esta nueva casa el espacio se redujo considerablemente y, para evitar que alguna se muriera, las regalé a una vecina que comparte la misma pasión por ellas. Aunque regalé varias plantas, en el espacio donde habitan tengo plantas medicinales como la sábila o aloe; plantas ornamentales, cactus y de otros tipos.     Pero, quiero que sepan que, más allá de todo lo que me dicen, la verdad es que no estoy loca, a pesar de reconocer que hablo con mis plantas, las acaricio y le susurro cosas a cada una de ellas. Y, es que, al hacerlo, siento una mejoría inmensa en toda mi alma. No sé explicar la transformación que ocurre en mí, cuando estoy en el proceso de atender a mis plantas. Para seguir explicando lo que me producen las plantas, debo decir que al conversar me trasmiten una sensación de paz y tranquilidad que no es comparable con nada. Creo que ni durmiendo siento más paz que al estar con ellas.   Desde hace mucho tiempo he aprendido el ciclo de riego que le corresponde porque no todas llevan la misma cantidad de agua. He tenido que estudiar para poder entender las propiedades curativas de las plantas y poder utilizarlas en mi beneficio. Por esas cuestiones considero que me ha aportado mucho conocimiento y beneficios para mi salud y la de mi esposo, pues, al hacer infusiones de algunas de mis plantas he podido sanar de algunas infecciones virales, la sábila me sirve para mi gastritis y, algunos vecinos han venido a la casa a pedir alguna planta para hacer algún té o cocimiento para uno de sus familiares. También he podido experimentar emociones agradables cuando nace una flor en una de mis plantas o retoña una planta y le nace un hijo o solo disfruto con el aroma que despiden algunas de mis plantas.  Pero, he tenido sensaciones negativas cuando pierdo alguna de mis plantas o no crecen y desarrollan de la manera que deben hacerlo ni en el periodo correspondiente. Esto me pasó con una orquídea y, la verdad es que, las personas pensaban que había muerto un familiar. Otro elemento importante que quiero mencionar es que el cuidado de mis plantas ha sido un factor clave de adaptación de mi jubilación. Sin ellas, esta nueva etapa de mi vida no estaría completa.  Tengo dos plantas que tienen el color verde claro que asemejan al color de mis ojos y son de mis preferidas, aunque, en realidad, a todas las quiero con el mismo cariño. Mi mundo es pequeño, pero en él están presentes mis queridas plantas a las que agradezco toda la paz que me trasmiten y la alegría que me dan. To prevent any of them from dying, I gave them to a neighbor who shares my passion for them. Although I gave away several plants, in the space where they live, I have medicinal plants like aloe; ornamental plants, cacti, and other types.     But I want you to know that, beyond everything you're telling me, the truth is I'm not crazy. Despite admitting that I talk to my plants, I caress them, and I whisper things to each one of them. And, in doing so, I feel an immense improvement in my entire soul. I can't explain the transformation that occurs in me when I'm in the process of caring for my plants. To continue explaining what plants do to me, I must say that when I talk to them, they transmit a feeling of peace and tranquility that is incomparable. I don't think I feel more peaceful even when I'm sleeping than when I'm with them.   I learned the proper watering cycle a long time ago because not all plants require the same amount of water. I had to study to understand the healing properties of plants and use them to my advantage. For these reasons, I believe it has provided me with a great deal of knowledge and benefits for my husband's and my own health. By making infusions from some of my plants, I have been able to cure some viral infections. Aloe vera helps me with my gastritis, and some neighbors have come to the house to ask for some plants to make a tea or decoction for one of their relatives. I've also experienced pleasant emotions when a flower blooms on one of my plants, or a plant sprouts and gives birth to a new one, or I just enjoy the aroma that some of my plants give off.  However, I've had negative feelings when I lose one of my plants or when they don't grow and develop the way they should or in the appropriate timeframe. This happened to me with an orchid, and the truth is, people thought a family member had died. Another important element I want to mention is that caring for my plants has been a key factor in my adjustment to retirement. Without them, this new stage of my life would not be complete.  I have two light green plants that resemble the color of my eyes, and they're my favorites, although, in reality, I love them all equally.
