 And, truth be told, we had a good time, despite the harsh economic conditions the country is experiencing. We arrived early in the morning, had some breakfast, and immediately set off on our adventure. Two of the members of our expedition were children, so joy was guaranteed.   One of our first stops was to satisfy the desires of the two children who wanted ice cream, and their parents and I lined up to wait to get in and buy it. But we weren't so lucky, because the ice cream ran out shortly before entering and they wouldn't bring any more because the production factory had no power. Despite this, our spirits didn't wane, and we continued looking for fun options. When we tried to catch a bus that would take us to the amusement park, we were told it was closed due to a lack of fuel, so we couldn't get to the place we wanted. Nevertheless, we hopped on a horse-drawn carriage and headed to a place where we could have lunch.   Fortunately, we found a place for lunch, but what we wanted to eat (fish) had run out, and only chicken was left. Since it was a bit late for lunch, we enjoyed that same dish, which I thought was a delicacy. You might think that all these setbacks made the trip useless, but believe me, it wasn't, because we laughed at our own problems and managed to have fun and return happily to our friends' houses.  This goes to show that you may or may not be happy with what you have, but if you look on the bright side, you're sure to have a good time. One of the advantages of being retired is being able to accept invitations from friends and travel without worrying about schedules, bosses, or work tasks. I was able to confirm this with this trip we took to Santa Martha, a place several kilometers from my home, but worth the trip because I was sure I'd have a good time.
