Hello everyone, I hope your week has been going great. Today I am stopping by to tell you about our trip to Cartagena. This trip started very early, we woke up around 3 am to get ready and wait for the car that would take us to the airport at 4 am. If you have visited Medellin, you will know that the airport is on the outskirts of the city and that is why you have to leave well in advance. Our flight had a stopover in Bogota and the first flight was leaving at about 7 am.
No sé si a ustedes les pasa lo mismo pero yo siento que cuando despierto muy temprano me da muchísima hambre y como llegamos temprano al aeropuerto decidimos ir a la vieja confiable. Unos pastelitos y cafesito bien caliente en Juan Valdez. Esto estaba delicioso y cayó como anillo al dedo porque estábamos que nos dormíamos. Un consejo que les doy es que Rio negro que es donde está ubicado el aeropuerto es muy muy frío así que váyanse bastante abrigados. Yo me estaba muriendo del frío y no lleve un suéter pero menos mal el café me ayudó un montón.
I don't know if the same thing happens to you but I feel that when I wake up very early I get very hungry and since we arrived early at the airport we decided to go to the old reliable. Some pastries and hot coffee at Juan Valdez. This was delicious and came as a perfect fit because we were about to fall asleep. A piece of advice is that Rio Negro, which is where the airport is located, is very, very cold, so dress warmly. I was dying from the cold and I didn't bring a sweater but luckily the coffee helped me a lot.
Unos amigos quienes también se unieron al viaje nos esperarían en el aeropuerto de Cartagena, entre ellas una muy buena amiga que trabajó conmigo anteriormente. Luisa me pidió postres saludables de Medellín así que esas cajas que ven allí eran esos y solo esperaba que no se dañaran y que llegaran sanos y salvos a su destino para que mi amiga pudiera disfrutarlos. Una vez que llegó la hora del embarque, estaba muy nerviosa y emocionada ya que hace un año que no tomaba un avión pero como siempre yo feliz de hacerme fotos y mostrarles el trayecto.
Some friends who also joined the trip would be waiting for us at the airport in Cartagena, among them a very good friend who worked with me before. Luisa asked me for healthy desserts from Medellin so those boxes you see there were those and I just hoped they would not be damaged and that they would arrive safe and sound at their destination so my friend could enjoy them. Once boarding time came, I was very nervous and excited since it had been a year since I had taken a plane but as always I was happy to take pictures and show them the journey.
Les cuento también que si viajan con la aerolínea Latam tendrán postre o cafecito de cortesía. En esta oportunidad nos dieron chocorramos pero también café de Juan Valdez con crema el cual estaba muy sabroso. Si algún colombiano me lee sabrá que es chocorramo porque es un postre muy conocido aquí pero a los que no, se trata de un ponquecito cubierto de chocolate muy muy sabroso y el café cayó como anillo al dedo para mantenernos despiertos ya que el vuelo fué súper corto y nos esperaba un avión más.
I also tell you that if you travel with Latam airline you will have a complimentary dessert or coffee. This time they gave us chocorramos but also Juan Valdez coffee with cream which was very tasty. If any Colombian reads me they will know what chocorramo is because it is a very well known dessert here but for those who do not, it is a very tasty chocolate covered cake and the coffee was perfect to keep us awake since the flight was very short and we had one more plane waiting for us.
Luego, tomamos nuestro vuelo a Cartagena y al llegar allí el calor que hacía era impresionante. Allí en Cartagena nos esperaba Luisa y Adriana quienes estaban esperando la torta para comerla inmediatamente con café de Juan Valdez, uno de los mejores cafés de Colombia. Seguidamente tomamos un taxi al centro comercial Caribe Plaza donde esperaríamos a Leonardo para irnos a almorzar a Le terrace. Este centro comercial me sorprendió un montón, estaba súper lindo y era muy grande.
Then, we took our flight to Cartagena and when we arrived there the heat was impressive. There in Cartagena Luisa and Adriana were waiting for us and they were waiting for the cake to eat it immediately with coffee from Juan Valdez, one of the best coffees in Colombia. Then we took a cab to the Caribe Plaza shopping center where we would wait for Leonardo to go to Le terrace for lunch. This mall surprised me a lot, it was super nice and very big.
Al terminar el almuerzo decidimos irnos a los airbnb para tomar un baño y seguir caminando y conociendo de la hermosa Cartagena. Esto fue todo por hoy, espero que les haya gustado. Nos leemos en un próximo post. Un abrazo
