Hello everyone, I hope your week has been going great. Today I stop by to tell you about our last day in Cartagena. A very hot day but with a lot of desire to walk around and continue getting to know this beautiful city. To close with a flourish, after separating all of us who went on the trip, Ena, Jose and I decided to continue getting to know the city since our flight back to Medellin was very late at night. For that reason, with our heavy backpacks and in the heat of the day, we walked to the India Catalina Monument. As Ena lived there, she told us a bit of the history which impressed us a lot and so we decided to make a stop there.
Seguidamente y luego de un par de fotos, seguimos caminando hasta el centro comercial La Serrezuela. Un centro comercial muy hermoso con un toque encantador que te sientes como si estuvieras no sé en Francia jajaja. A las afueras del centro comercial, veiamos muchachos trabajando con caballos como medio de transporte o simplemente para darles paseo por la ciudad a los turistas. Si van a Cartagena, pregunten el precio antes de montarse porque es bastante costoso y no apoyo esta manera de usar a los caballos, me da un poco de tristeza.
After a couple of pictures, we continued walking to the La Serrezuela shopping center. A very beautiful mall with a charming touch that makes you feel as if you were in France hahaha. Outside the mall, we saw guys working with horses as a means of transportation or just to give tourists a ride around the city. If you go to Cartagena, ask the price before riding because it is quite expensive and I do not support this way of using horses, it makes me a little sad.
Algo que me encantó mucho dentro del centro comercial fué el ruedo, eso que parece un teatro o no sé como llamarlo. Una vez prendieron las aguas y luces, se veia aun más espectacular y te quedabas embobado observandolo. Tengo entendido que El Ruedo lo usan para eventos especiales y la verdad es que lo tiene todo para que así sea. Allí cerca al ruedo recuerdo que habia un Starbucks donde podias sentarte a tomar un café mientras seguias observandolo.
Something that I really loved inside the mall was the arena, which looks like a theater or I don't know what to call it. Once they turned on the water and lights, it looked even more spectacular and you could just gawk at it. I understand that El Ruedo is used for special events and the truth is that it has everything to make it so. I remember there was a Starbucks where you could sit and have a coffee while you were watching it.
Ya para finalizar nuestro paseo y como se acercaba la hora de cenar y luego irnos al aeropuerto, decidimos dar una caminata por la ciudad amurallada en el cual siento que llegamos en el momento perfecto porque habia un atardecer tan bonito que pudimos hacer un par de fotos preciosas. Si les soy honesta, toda esta caminata pudimos hacerla gracias a Ena ya que ella es de Cartagena y obviamente se conoce todo esto de pie a cabeza y así fué como evitamos perdernos.
To finish our walk and since it was getting close to dinner time and then we were going to the airport, we decided to take a walk through the walled city in which I feel that we arrived at the perfect time because there was such a beautiful sunset that we were able to take a couple of beautiful pictures. If I am honest, we were able to do all this walk thanks to Ena since she is from Cartagena and obviously knows all this from head to toe and that's how we avoided getting lost.
Me encantó mucho haber hecho esta parada ya que observamos también la playa y no eramos los únicos. Habian muchisimas personas más paseando por allí mientras se hacian fotos hermosas. Asi que si vienen aquí, cerca del atardecer, es la hora perfecta para ir y hacer buenas fotografias.
I was very happy to have made this stop as we also observed the beach and we were not the only ones. There were many more people walking around while taking beautiful pictures. So if you come here, near sunset, it's the perfect time to go and take good pictures.
Finalmente salimos de ahí y nos regresamos caminando a un centro comercial para comer unas hamburguesa en Mcdonals y así llegar comidos al aeropuerto ya que en el aeropuerto todo es mucho más caro y era algo que queriamos evitar porque no teniamos tanto presupuesto. En definitiva, un paseo muy bueno. Todos los días allí fueron mis favoritos y la compañia que tuvimos lo hizo aún mejor. Esto fué todo por hoy, espero que les haya gustado. Finally we left there and walked back to a shopping mall to eat some hamburgers at Mcdonalds so we could eat at the airport since everything at the airport is much more expensive and it was something we wanted to avoid because we did not have that much budget. All in all, a very good trip. All the days there were my favorite and the company we had made it even better. That was all for today, I hope you liked it. See you in a future post. Best regards
