📸 Hello to the entire community. This is my entry for the Show Me A Photo Contest Round 234. In the photo, you can see a Cuban sparrow, a small and common bird that I have been used to hearing and seeing every day since I was a child.
Since the contest theme is Small Birds, I take this opportunity to share this image. The sparrow was eating from a tree in a house garden, and I took advantage of it being still to capture the moment. This type of bird is hard to capture because they are almost never still; they are very lively. In my neighborhood, it’s common to see them fighting over food.
Although they are very common, to me they are special. Every morning I wake up hearing them sing. It’s a habit. Before I started learning about photography, they were my favorite birds, but now that I know a bit more, I think their relatives, the bijiritas, have taken that spot. However, I still believe Cuban sparrows are very beautiful.

📸Hola a toda la comunidad. Esta es mi participación en el Show Me A Photo Contest Round 234. En la foto pueden ver un gorrión cubano, un ave pequeña y común que estoy acostumbrada a escuchar y ver todos los días desde que soy una niña.
Como el tema del concurso es Small Birds, aprovecho para compartir esta imagen. El gorrión estaba comiendo de un árbol en el jardín de una casa y aproveché que estaba quieto para capturar el momento. Este tipo de ave es difícil de capturar porque casi nunca están quietas, son muy vivaces; en mi barrio es frecuente verlos pelear por comida.
A pesar de que son muy comunes, para mí son especiales. Cada mañana me levanto escuchándolas cantar. Es una costumbre. Antes de ir aprendiendo sobre fotografía, eran mis aves favoritas, pero ahora que conozco un poco más, creo que sus primas, las bijiritas, han ganado ese lugar. Sin embargo, aún creo que los gorriones cubanos son muy bonitos.
