The smoke in the upper atmosphere from the fires in the western United States is still adding color to sunrise in otherwise clear blue skies.
In these pictures you will see a crowd gathering to watch the sunrise. You may have heard the expression "the early bird gets the worm". In this series of photos and in the video you will see that the early bird also sees the sun rise.
Photographs taken on 27 August 2018.
Sunrise Video
For this photo shoot I focused on the distant horizon then turned off the auto-focus and the image stabilization on my lens. I used a high f-stop to keep both the foreground and background in sharp focus.
The photographs in the video cover a 34 minute time-frame. The video starts 30 minutes before the official sunrise time.
Full Video
All the photographs taken have been compiled into a short 4 minute 17 second video. The photographs have not been enhanced, you see what I observed.
Music: "Antarctica" by Audionautix. This music was chosen because the musical transitions seemed to match the tone of this sunrise.

Sunrise Photographs in Sequence
Dawn: The period of the day when light begins to appear in the sky from the sun. Sunrise: The time when you first see the sun in the morning.
To give you an idea of the when the photographs were taken I am adding a T-time. T-0 is sunrise, T-10 is 10 minutes before sunrise, and T+5 is 5 minutes after sunrise.
This is a representative sample of the photographs in the video. The photographs have not been enhanced, you are seeing what I observed on this morning.
