If you were told you had won a scholarship to study or learn something new, what would you like to learn and why?
If I were told today that I had won a scholarship to study or learn something new, I would choose to go to culinary school. Cooking has always been a part of me, I can never do without cooking and we know good food is the best. To me food is not just about eating to stay alive, it is also creativity and makes me feel connected to my kitchen and the utensils, so I believe culinary school would give me the chance to turn something I love into a skill that can open many doors.
When I was young I love to stay with my mother in the kitchen to see how things were done in the kitchen because I have so much interest in it, I always observe how she added ingredients to it and the aroma that comes out from her kitchen always excite me but now I want to go far, I want to learn more about cooking and I believe that with proper training, I could take my cooking to another level.
One of the main reasons I would choose culinary school is because I want to learn the science behind food. I love to cook no doubt about it but I want to know more about cooking both intercontinental and local food, I want to be able to form my own recipes and know what goes with each other and want to know how healthy the recipes are, I want to have more knowledge to create meals that people would appreciate and never forget.
Winning a scholarship would make this dream possible. I have been thinking of how to upgrade my cooking skills and how to take it to another level but I cannot afford the fee because culinary education is a bit expensive here in my country but getting a scholarship would give me freedom to focus fully on learning and improving myself without worrying about money.
Culinary school would also give me an opportunity to explore different cultures through food, I love different dishes from different countries which would be an opportunity for me to learn and know more about it, food is one of the best ways to connect people, and I love the idea of being able to cook meals from different parts of the world.
Another reason I would love to attend culinary school is because I want to create a future out of it, food will always be a necessity, but beyond that, it is an art that people are willing to pay for, with the right skills, I could open my own restaurant, run a catering service, or even teach others, the possibilities are endless, and it all begins with proper training.
I believe going to culinary school I would learn a lot, it would teach me discipline, patience, and creativity. Cooking requires time and attention, you cannot rush it if you want the best and quality from it, cooking also requires an open mind because you need to try new recipes and experiment with ingredients. These lessons would help me not only in the kitchen but also in life generally.
