Spices make life and food interesting. They are what makes our food more delicious I love different spices but the one that stands out the most is Ginger, ginger is not just anyhow spicy to me it also describes me and my personality,

Ginger is not just any kind of spice I can ignore, it serves different purposes not just in food alone, it is healthy and very good for the body, it is different from all our processed spices, ginger can be sharp there is no how you use ginger in your food without noticing it and that is how I see myself sometimes. I may not be loud, but I am present. When I step into any place, I want to leave a little mark, just like ginger does in food.

Other benefits I can get from ginger, it can serve as detoxifier when boil with honey, It can calm the body, ease a sore throat, and make you feel better on a cold day. That is also how I try to be. I like to be a problem solver though I may not have too much to offer but I want my presence to always bring peace to people I know or meet.

Another thing I admire about ginger is how it shows up in different places. In Africa, it is in our zobo drink, I can never prepare my zobo drink without adding Ginger, ginger gives it extra flavor and also strong taste, it is so perfect in our Africa hibiscus drink which is our zobo drink.

Ginger can also be used for healing, I remember when we were young and anytime we are having catarrh and cold my mother will boil ginger and tell us to inhale the smoke coming out from it and also give us some to drink, a simple cup of ginger tea can bring relief to a sick person. I see myself in that too. I like being someone who listens, who encourages, and who makes people feel lighter. Life is not always easy, but sometimes just having someone there for you makes a difference. That is the kind of presence I want to bring, the way ginger brings relief.

I know nothing have advantages that doesn't have disadvantages, in as much ginger is good in food or other things we are using it for it should be minimal too much of it can be dangerous, Sometimes it can be too much, If you add too much ginger to food, it overpowers everything. I remember a time I used to much of it in food I regretted it that day because it was too palatable to eat.

Another thing about ginger is that it teaches me about balance. Just a little piece can change the taste of food. It reminds me that small actions matter in life. A smile, a kind word, or even standing up for someone can change a whole situation. I believe that even the smallest parts of us can bring big change, just like ginger does in a pot of soup.
