Adiós al tetero, ya somos grandes! [ESP/ENG]

## Español Hola a todos! sí, así como leyeron, hace un tiempo le dijimos adios al tetero, y debo decir que fue más difícil para mí que para Olivia, supongo que fue porque ella ya estaba lista para dejarlo, y aunque en el primer día del destete nosotros como padres teníamos muchas dudas, la verdad es que ahora estamos muy felices de haberlo dejado, especialmente yo que ahora puedo dormir la noche completa sin levantarme a preparar tetero de madrugada (que más que hambre era costumbre de Olivia). Ahora bien, a cada bebe o niño le toma un tiempo diferente el destete, en nuestro caso solo 3 días fueron suficientes, primero quitando el tetero de la siesta, el siguiente día el de la noche y por último el de madrugada, y todo empezó porque como ya algunos sabran Olivia estaba tomando fórmula para bebes alérgicos a la proteína de la leche de la vaca pero en consulta con la pediatra nos informó que ya no era bueno que ella siguiera tomando esa leche porque Olivia ya no tiene alergía o quizá nunca la tuvo, entonces nos recomendó intentar con otra fórmula infantil y aunque lo intentamos (no solo con una) la verdad es que a Olivia no le gustó ninguna, razón por la cual tomamos la decisión de hacer el destete. Lo bueno es que ahora Olivia come mejor y muy variado, por supuesto ofreciendo siempre alimentos ricos en calcio para su desarrollo (como los helados de yogurt, el queso blanco, leche en el puré de papa, entre otros), también fue bueno hacerlo porque cuidamos sus dientes ya que alargar el uso del tetero puede traer problemas de caries, así que como padres estamos muy felices por esto y quería compartir y celebrar este logro de Olivia con ustedes que se que también estaran felices por nosotros. I guess it was because she was ready to give it up, and although on the first day of weaning we as parents had many doubts, the truth is that now we are very happy to have done it, especially me, as I can now sleep through the night without getting up to prepare a bottle in the early hours (which was more of a habit for Olivia than hunger). Now, every baby or child takes a different amount of time to wean. In our case, only three days were enough. First, we took away the bottle at nap time, then the next day at night, and finally in the early morning. It all started because, as some of you may know, Olivia was drinking formula for babies allergic to cow's milk protein, but after consulting with the pediatrician, she informed us that it was no longer good for her to continue drinking that milk because Olivia no longer has an allergy, or perhaps never had one. She then recommended that we try another infant formula, and although we tried (not just one), the truth is that Olivia didn't like any of them, which is why we made the decision to wean her. The good thing is that Olivia now eats better and has a more varied diet, of course always offering foods rich in calcium for her development (such as yogurt ice cream, white cheese, milk in mashed potatoes, among others). It was also good to do this because we are taking care of her teeth, since prolonging the use of a bottle can lead to cavities. so as parents we are very happy about this and I wanted to share and celebrate Olivia's achievement with you, as I know you will also be happy for us.
