I think I love the movie entertainment because of the fiction side of life they make a reality on screen and I want to believe it's same for most of us who enjoy movies. We don't get to see in real life easily, what we see in the movies and that's totally fine. It is the entertainment that counts.
But what about those stories that are weirder than we'd expected to see on screen. I don't know much about other country movies but I'm "EverythingKdrama" so let's see what the Korean movie industry have for us, the weird stories.
I've seen a lot of Korean series and I'll say these five are the weirdest yet, not that I didn't enjoy my time on it, some are even a masterpiece in my history of watching kdrama but we can't ignore the fact that they are way too strange to imagine that they'd happen in real life.
Are you a lover of weird or strange storylines? You want to add these to your watchlist if you're yet to see any... While these dramas may sound really strange on papers, they somehow manage to captivate viewers onscreen especially with the humour and suspense that comes with them.
My Absolute Boyfriend (2019)
https://youtu.be/P4zdBnFlWWs?si=gS1b7qphkL_U2L1Y
A woman falling in love with a humanoid... I've seen a few other kdrama with this similar story but no matter the number of times I've seen this, it doesn't get any less strange for me. My Absolute Boyfriend entails the story of a makeup artist who activates a human robot by mistake and begins to fall in love with it. It's hard for viewers to connect with such characters and I think the characters did even badly on this plot.
I'm Not A Robot (2017-2018)

This one is a masterpiece for me, I think I've it more than three times already since I first saw it in 2019 or so. The reason this plot would be the weirdest in my opinion is in the male lead story. The story is about a wealthy young man who is allergic to human touch (Huh! what did you say?) and a humanoid was proposed to him. He buys the idea for a companion unknown to him that the humanoid was switched to a real human (the model lady) and a love story begins. This was a lot better because both turn out to be humans to the viewers.
My Holo Love (2020)

Might be the least of all the kdrama mentioned to have weird plots on this post but it's not a total waste of time. My Holo Love evolves around a lonely woman who found a Holo (AI hologram in form of glasses) in her possession and she begins to interact with it. In the process, she meets it's creator who looks exactly like her AI companion and an unexpected romance story begins. You'd find the whole plot weird the more into the epsoodes you go.
The Beauty Inside (2018)

How do a lady change form every month and stays that way for a week? The change isn't just in one way but in age, race and even gender. At first, I wondered how they'd pull it off to have her falling in love in the story as it's in the romantic genre. Well, the weirdest came in, a man who has face blindness but only recognizes her. That's like the whole story but you really want to see the whole weirdest yourself.
The Potato Lab (2023)

My most recent watch but I'm not sure I can say it's the weirdest, just really is stranger than fiction for me. I had never thought potato could be used in powering love chemistry among characters, this series proved me wrong and it is weird but not a bad watch at all. A brief of the storyline says "A woman obsessed with potatoes is swept away by a principled man like a tornado potato"* lol.
