The sun is finally gracing us with its presence after another long dark period. Every year it is just as wonderful as the last when there is more natural light, all of 2 minutes more every day. It’s insane how much that does for you mood.
Everything else in me loves the sun but my eyes have always struggled with it. I have very light sensitive eyes and that’s why I’m always squinting and looking mad wrinkly. Some time ago I came across the most womderful and fairly new invention of transitional contact lenses and I immediately ordered them. The technology has been available in normal glasses but those look so fucking stupid on anyone no matter the frame shape so I was very excited for these special contacts.
I ordered these before Christmas and I didn’t wanna waste them during the darkest time of the year. Now as the sun is back and of course the snow acts like a mirror and the light burns me I’m in desperate need of eye protection.
It was so fun to open up the package and see how the lens turned turned from transparent to brown. I popped these on my peepers and within a few seconds near the window I no longer felt so sensitive to the sun, nice! I wore them all day and when in darker environment, you will not notice having on ”sunnies” at all. These are also a very comfortable pair of contacts so I might as well just order more of these and not even bother with the normal ones. For super sensitive days I can definitely double up and wear normal sunnies with these.
If you look closely when I open my eyes more, you can see where the lens has turned brown and what my normal eye colour is. In really bright light these make my eyes look freaky cool, a dark greyish green intead of the lighter blue-green-grey. These will be a good addition to my spy outfits.
