The park is full of energy today with the family dog racing ahead, ears flying like a tiny rebellion against gravity. She absolutely loves her trips to the dog park and even mentioning the word "PARK" has her bouncing up and down!
Walking with a dog is more than exercise. It is an open invitation to slow down and observe the world. Our dog stops to sniff a tree and I notice a squirrel frozen on a branch. An older couple waves as they pass. Small moments, but they matter.
She is a very social dog and I have noticed throughout my life that just like people, dogs have different personalities.
-=[ Why I think empathy Is Punk!! ]=-
Punk is not just leather jackets or loud guitars. Real punk is refusing to be numb in a world that rewards apathy.
Choosing to care, to listen, to understand is the most radical act there is.
It cuts against cynicism.
It refuses the easy path of “not my problem.”
It takes energy to help and be good in a world that can seem like it's full of darkness and hate.
When we smile and wave at a stranger at the dog park, when I notice the dog who looks nervous, when I pick up a stray piece of litter, I am practicing empathy. I am making a choice to make the world I exist in better.

Today is about clean air, wagging tails, and quiet resistance. Our dog reminds us that joy is simple and immediate. My choice to care is deliberate, powerful and always ongoing no matter what is happening.
Empathy is punk. Positive vibes are fuel. Sunday is the perfect day to practice both!!!
