I have always liked the tiny, weird looking Euphorbia flowers. This is my excuse for the number of photos.  I could not stop!

And after I thought I was done, I took a few more :p  Just because.

Euphorbia cyparissias

It is commonly known as cypress spurge and it can be found all over Europe and North America.  It likes open, sunny spaces, and I can be almost sure to find it on the side of the woods or fields. And as with any weed, it will grow where it can spreading the seeds freely.

The large group of them I found on the edge of the forest, growing in quite sandy soil. It doesn't mind. It will bloom from spring through the hot days of summer.

The flowers are just a few mm across and they blend with the outside leaves. The light green colour is quite pretty, and with the thousands of them blooming next to each other - it is quite the show.

It is not very tall, maybe 20–30 cm. Thin stems and needle like leaves in dark green contain a milky substance that will leak after the plant is wounded.

This plant has several irritants. The milky sap is a skin irritant that can cause burns/blisters in some individuals. Late season mature bracts have tiny hair like barbs. Once they are in your skin can cause mild irritation that can last for years source

Yep, not as innocent as it looks.

Time for the visitors as there were plenty. Bees, flies, ants, and all kinds of little creepy buggers were feeding on the sap and nectar.

Lastly a nice graphic to show the whole plant since I didn't pull any with roots to shoot :p
