Hairnet is a net worn to keep the hair in place or in some cases, to keep the hair away from something. Hairnet has proven to be very important over the years, especially in the food and health line.
I once worked in a company producing a soda drink. You simply cannot work without your hairnet on, it is one of the safety measures put in place for the safety of their clients. The net helps keep the hair from falling into whatever it is that you do.
I asked one of my female friends why she wears a net before sleeping. She said it helps keep her hair in place, she does not want it running around. I said, why make the hair then? It should have just been cut to make it easier. Of course you know her response.
