Happy weekend, Hivers! The weekend is here again, and I decided to cook something simple but special – Tuna Pesto Spaghetti – to bring to our family’s birthday gathering. Let me share with you how I prepared it.
Ingredients:
900g Spaghetti
380g Cheesy Pesto (2 pouches)
360g Tuna (2 cans, drained)
2 tablespoons Oil (for sautéing)
Grated Cheddar Cheese (half for the sauce, half for topping)
60g Onion
30g Garlic
150g Mushrooms (sliced, drained)
Procedures:
First, I boiled the spaghetti until it was just right, then rinsed it after cooking.
While that was set aside, I started sautéing onion and garlic in a bit of oil. The smell was already so good at this point.
Next, I added the drained tuna and mixed it well with the sautéed onion and garlic..
After that, I tossed in the drained mushrooms and let them soften together with the tuna.
Then, it was time for the cheesy pesto. I poured it in and let it blend with everything.
To make it creamy, I added half of the grated cheese into the sauce and let it melt.
Then I combined the sauce with the spaghetti and topped it off with the remaining grated cheese.
You can actually serve this pasta in two ways:
Serve with sauce on top (not mixed): Place the pasta on a plate and simply pour the pesto sauce with cheese over it.
or:
Serve fully mixed: Combine the spaghetti with the sauce first, then top it with more grated cheese.
Both are delicious in their own way — it just depends on how you like it. Which one would you prefer.😉
And that’s it – my Tuna Pesto Spaghetti! A simple dish, but always a winner when shared with family. Cooking it was enjoyable, and I’m glad I could bring it along to our gathering.
Thank you for spending a little time with my post today😊
