In life, we are faced with different choices and when making decisions there are things we need to consider.
When faced with significant life choices, I rely on these three core values to help me navigate the decision making process.
Integrity is about being honest and transparent in all interactions. When I am faced with a tough decision, I will ask myself, “would I be proud to share this decision with others?” “Does this decision align with my moral principles?” When I ask myself the following questions, it will help me to prioritize my integrity. I am more likely to make decisions that will build trust, respect, and a strong reputation. Having strong moral principles will help me in decision making because your choices will be based on your principles.
Embracing Growth. Growth is about embracing opportunities for personal and professional development. When I'm faced with major decisions, I will ask myself, if I make or take this decision, will it help me learn and grow, will help in my long term goals. I will step out of my comfort zone and develop new skills and perspectives.
When I'm making decisions, I like to consider others' feelings and their needs. Empathy is one of the things I considered when making a serious decision. I want to know whether what I'm about to do will impact those around us positively. I will like to put others in my shoes, feel what they feel and be compassionate about them.
When faced with a major life decisions, I reflect on these three values and ask myself “does my choice goes hand in hand with my principles?” “how will decision impact others?” “will my choice help me to grow and develop?” With this I will be able to make more thoughtful decisions that will help my aspirations and goals.
Integrity, growth and empathy are the three values that guide my major decisions in life. By living with my values, I'm more positive of making it through in life with my decisions.
