Über die grüne Eicheneule hatte ich in der Vergangenheit schon berichtet. Sie ist für mich eine der schönsten Nachtfalter durch ihre frische farbenfrohe Grünfärbung. Das Muster der Flügeloberfläche ist wirklich markant und macht diesen Nachtfalter unverwechselbar. Der Falter fliegt in trockenen Laubwäldern mit einem hohen Anteil an Eichen. Die Flugzeit beginnt im August und endet im Oktober.
I have already reported about the merveille du jour Moth in the past. For me it is one of the most beautiful moths because of its fresh and colorful green coloration. The pattern of the wing surface is really striking and makes this moth unmistakable. The moth flies in dry deciduous forests with a high percentage of oak trees. The flight time starts in August and ends in October.

Das Ei überwintert und kann unterschiedlich gefärbt sein. Mein nachfolgendes Bild hatte ich schon mal gezeigt. Es passt allerdings perfekt zu diesem Beitrag, um euch die unterschiedliche Färbung der Eier zu zeigen. Die Eier werden an der Rinde und an den Knospen der Eiche abgelegt.
The egg hibernates and can be differently colored. I have already shown my following picture. But it fits perfectly to this article to show you the different coloring of the eggs. The eggs are placed on the bark and buds of the oak.

Die Raupe schlüpft im Frühjahr und ernährt sich von den jungen Blättern. Nach der letzten Häutung klettert die Raupe am Stamm bis auf den Boden und verpuppt sich an der Basis der Eiche im Erdreich. Am schönsten ist aber der Falter mit seinen Farben und Formen.
The caterpillar hatches in spring and feeds on the young leaves. After the last moult, the caterpillar climbs to the ground at the trunk and pupates at the base of the oak in the soil. But the most beautiful is the butterfly with its colors and shapes.
