Another day passed with the same hustle, and Amir returned home with a heavy heart. He was searching for a job for a long time, but luck was not in his favor. It was raining outside, and he was fully drenched. He entered his house, and it was completely dark inside.
"Aiza...! Aiza....! Where are you?"
He searched for his wife everywhere and finally found her in the bedroom. She was lying on her bed in the light of the lamp. Amir turned on the light in his room and came to her.
"Are you okay?"
He asked her while putting his hand on her head. She opened her eyes, but couldn't speak due to the weakness. She was a patient of tuberculosis, and they didn't have enough money to get her a good treatment. They were used to visiting a minor doc in the nearby clinic, who was continuously referring them to the senior doctors in the hospital.
Amir lost his job almost six months ago, and since then, he has been in search of a job. He applied to differentinstitutionsns but no one was ready to offer him a job. He spent all his savings to cater to their needs and on his wife's treatment. Now he was left with no money. A man in their neighbourhood who was also his friend was very generous. He was helping them every month with groceries, so they could eat to stay alive.
That day, his wife's condition was not good.
"Aiza! What happened? Why are you lying here? Have you eaten your lunch?"
"I am feeling so weak today, there is a severe pain in my kidney, and I am unable to walk."
"That means, you haven't eaten anything. Let me bring something for you."
He went into the kitchen to prepare something for his wife, but there was nothing as it was the end of the month. Amir checked his pocket, and there were only five hundred rupees. He went to bring food for his wife. He brought what she could have easily eaten.
"Hurry up! Eat it, and then we will go to the doctor. "
He helped her to get up and made her eat with his own hands. He was a very caring husband who always treated his wife well. After the dinner, he went out. He knocked on the door of his neighbour, who was used to helping him with his monthly groceries. Seeing him, his eyes became teary, and he hardly spoke any words.
"I know you have helped us a lot! I don't have words to be grateful to you. But...today I just came to ask for some money. My wife is not feeling well and I don't have money to bring her to the doctor. Please!...it would be a great help!"
"Don't worry my friend! Give me a second."
He went inside and brought some money. Amir thanked him for his generosity and went home immediately to bring his wife to the clinic. It was already 10 pm and he had no one who could give them a ride, so he booked a taxi. On the way, Aiza's health deteriorated.
"Just five minutes, Aiza! We will be in the clinic soon."
But before they could have reached the clinic, someone stopped their taxi. They were robbers who demanded money at gunpoint. Amir was out of his senses, but he couldn't resist as they were with the gun. So he handed over the money to them. He cried and cried, but nothing could be done. The taxi driver also dropped them on the road, where they were robbed. Aiza was also unable to walk. He sat on the side of the footpath with his wife and screamed.
"What would happen now? How would I bring you to the hospital now?"
He was mourning his fate, just then, a man in a black car stopped near them. He saw them crying, so he asked in awe.
"Is everything okay? Can I help you?"
Amir couldn't utter a word, but his eyes said it all. So after reliving them and hearing their agony, the man was promoted to help them. He brought them to the big hospital in their area, where Aiza got admitted. He was a very kind aristocrat who was used to helping the poor and needy people. He promised to bear all the expense of her treatment. He also promised him a job in his company. Amir was amazed and thanked him for his generosity.
"I didn't know that people like you still exist in this world. I don't know how I would compensate your kindness. "
"You don't need to be thankful, I am God's servant, who would always help people like you."
After a few days, Amir went to his company, where he was appointed to the post of manager. That fateful day, when he met with a man, he got rid of his agony.
