"Time flies! I can't believe, tomorrow will be our last day in college. " My friend said this to me while her eyes were filled with tears.
" Don't be sad, we will always be in touch. " I replied.
"But nothing would be the same! Our useless gossip, long walks on the track, meaningless laughs and working on late-night assignments, everything would change."
"You are right! But why not create some more memories, so we could cherish those moments in our bad times."
"Memories? But how?" She asked.
"I mean, we should make our last day joyful and memorable."
"That's a great idea! But what would be the plan?"
"We would discuss it with our other friends. Let's go."
We went to our other friends and they were also sad. But I gave them the suggestion to plan something for our last day. We decided to throw a little party, which would be pure fun with different meals and games. First, we went to ask our vice principal to seek her permission so we could make any kind of arrangements.
Time was short, so we decided on the things that we could easily plan. There were a total of seven girls in our group, but our whole class decided to participate in the party.
"There would be a little singing competition. Mina and Ria will bring speakers and Mike." Zoha( our classmate) said this to them.
We selected three girls who were good at singing and others who could give a dance performance.
"Every one of us would pay 500 rupees, so we could order something for lunch. "
I said to them. They agreed and we decided on pani puri, Biryani, Kebab and drinks for lunch. We also plan different funny games, like truth or dare and musical chairs. That day, we spent planning, and even our teachers allowed us to have some fun.
The next day, we were at the college on time. We were dressed in proper uniforms as it was not an annual function. After the assembly, we went into our classes. After having our roll call, we all went into the function hall as our classroom was too small to enjoy properly.
At first, we decided to play musical chairs. It is a game that involves the elimination of players with music and chairs. It was pure fun. Now it was time for a singing competition. We not only sang songs, but also gave dance performances. As it was a mini party, no one could judge us.
We were having a lot of fun. Just then, someone informed us that the principal is heading towards the hall. We got scared, but she was so polite to us that day. She not only encouraged us but also blessed us with good wishes.
" Success or failure is a part of life, but the real winners are those who stay consistent with their aim." She spoke while leaving the hall.
We all started to sing again. Now it was 1 pm. We were all hungry, and our order had also been delivered to the college. After serving some food to our teachers, we enjoyed the tasty biryani and all the other things that were included in the menu. After lunch, we went to all the teachers to get their signatures and good wishes for us. Miss Jameela was my favourite teacher in college. She advised us to work hard in the future.
"Life is not a bed of roses. If you all want to do something big in your life, you should not waste even a second. No one can achieve success being idle, so always be ready to do hard work."
This is what she said to us, and I made it a golden rule in my life. I got signatures from my teachers on my little diary to keep as a memory. After saying goodbye to our teachers, it was time for us to leave. This was truly a hard time for us, and we were not ready for this. Our eyes were filled with tears, but we promised to meet each other even after college and to stay in touch, no matter where life takes us.
Although, last day in college tends to be sad, we made that day joyful and never let any negative thoughts prevent us from enjoying. I still remember that day, and it has become a source of solace and comfort in my hard days.
