"I'll be back in the afternoon. All you have to do is stay at your aunt's house."
"Okay, Mom! What's about Aunt Neeli? Is she going with you?"
"Yes! We are going for some paperwork, but I will leave you there with your cousins."
"Alright, Mom!"
Adam's mother was going to the Nadra office with her sister Neeli, but she asked her son to stay at Neeli's house with her children. Adam was 13 years old and the only child of his parents, so his mother didn't want him to stay alone at home. Adam was also happy to hear this, as it would be a great chance for him to have some time with his cousins. Adam's mother brought him to his aunt's house, and they both left for the Nadra office with certain instructions for their children.
"I have put some snacks and a meal in the kitchen for you guys. Watch your tablets and later play some games." Neeli said to them.
The children were happy to be united, and they preferred to play games instead of watching their tablets. At first, they played hide and seek, and later they played the chairs game. A few hours passed, and now they were feeling hungry, so they went into the kitchen and enjoyed the food. After eating the food, they again played different games.
On the other hand, Adam's mother and his aunt got stuck there as they were working on a procedure to transfer their property in their name. After the death of their parents, their lawyer informed them that they would need some paperwork before the property would be transferred to their names. But it was time-consuming work, so their whole day was spent in the Nadra office and later with the property dealer.
While children were tired of playing the same games for hours and they were now getting bored.
"It's 4 pm, but still Mom is not back yet!" Adam said to his cousins.
"Don't worry! They will be back soon."
"But now I am getting bored."
"Then I have an idea to kill your boredom." One of his cousins said to him.
"What are you talking about?"
"Why not visit Uncle Babu's garden? What do you say?"
"I think that's a great idea. So let's go!"
Uncle Babu was an elderly person who had a big garden in the town. There, he had all kinds of fruits and flowers. Children were excited to visit the garden, so they immediately reached there as it was a little far from their house. But before they could have entered the garden, they read the words "Beware of dogs" outside, which were mentioned on the paper. The paper was attached to the door with glue.
"I think there are dogs inside."
"No, there is no such thing inside. I visited this garden last month, and there was no dog. I think someone has put this just to scare the kids."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes! Now come with me."
Adam's cousin was sure about the absence of dogs, so he decided to enter the garden with him. They opened the door and stepped into the garden. But as soon as they entered, they saw three huge and wild dogs coming towards them. The dogs were barking with their mouth wide open.
"OMG...Adam..look at the dogs!" His cousin screamed.
They all got frightened and ran outside to save their life. The dogs were also behind them as if they would be their target for today. Their hearts were throbbing with fear, and they were continuously running. But just then, Adam and his cousins stumbled and fell on the ground. They lifted their heads before they could get up. They saw an elderly person standing in front of them. He was Uncle Babu.
"Haven't you read the instructions on the door?"
Uncle Babu asked while helping them to get up. Their ankles were badly injured and they couldn't utter a word out of embarrassment. He let them go with the advice to be careful next time. As soon as they reached their home, their mothers were also waiting for them. They were worried to see their condition and asked the reason.
"Mom! We just wanted to kill our boredom, but it turned out to be chaos." Adam replied to his mother. Luckily, their mothers didn't scold them and gave them first aid.
