@farmlife · 2022-01-13 06:31 · WE ARE MOVING

Hello everyone ... its been a while a shared a post on hive . But when i came to see this post on @amazingnature , i was sure that this is the kind of contest in which i should take part . Not only that , am a bird watcher and i have already posted a lot of posts regarding birds in hive , mainly in the community @featheredfriends. So how can i miss such an opportunity .

I am from kerala , India . This state is a paradise for people who loves birds . There are a lot of rare and endemic birds in this state . This abundance of birds make people to visit kerala from different countries.

For this challenge i didn't even went to any other places cause i was sure that i can encounter a lot of birds near to my house as there are a lot of birds that visits my yard daily . And my yard is surrounded by trees .

To start my watch i had to choose an hour . So i thought i will start this hour when i will see a bird.

The first bird i saw was a red whiskered bulbull. This bird is so common in our area . We can find this bird in our locality in any given time . Usually they are seen in a group . They make a lot of noise and they are actually so friendly with humans and they make their nests so close to our houses and buildings. During this one hour i saw a lot of red whiskered bulbulls . Am not sure but i think i have seen about 8 or 9 of these birss during this 1 hour. Its scientific name is Pycnonotus jocosus . alphin_photographyy_1641933625332635.jpg From this pic you can spot 2 red whiskwred bulbuls. This pic was tough to capture as these birds were far from me .

Another common bird in our area is the greater racket tailed drongo . This bird can be found in my backyard almost every time and during my chosen hour also it didn't disappoint me and it helped me with its presence and i was fortunate to take a clear photo of it. alphin_photographyy_1641933565123565.jpg Its scientific name is Dicrurus paradiseus. They have this unique ability to mimic the sounds of other birds and sometimes even the sounds of animals.

Then another bird that i saw during this hour and was able to take the picture was white eye . This birds are so cute and small . Usually found in a group of 4 or 5 . But i saw only one . Its scientific name is Zosteropidae . I was not able to take a clear photo of this as this bird is so fast and it is literally very difficult to find this birds sitting in the branches . They always move here and there . alphin_photographyy_1641933552214203.jpg

During this hour i saw some other birds like malabar whistling thrush , oriental magpie-robin and even a ring necked parrot. Eventhough i had a good look at them i wasn't able to capture their photos as they flew away before i had a chance to click my camera.
