I would like to share some perspective about holiday and how significant it is especially in my beautiful country. Different countries have their varied holidays with their reasons. In as much as holiday is very important but there should be regulations so that we don't end up enjoying the break without doing the needful.
Countries give a day of rest to it's citizens for on reason or the other. In my country there are diverse days of break which is generally observed by my country ranging from the independent day, to democracy down to the religious holidays. Each of these breaks do have mapped out events that follows in other to just make the day so memorable.
In my opinion, there are holidays which should be scrabbed or better still, the day should be there but the holiday attached to it should be down away with because the breaks are way too much.
There are many reasons I have to back up my point. Being that we are a country that is way back in development , should motivate the government to look for every possible ways to make sure that we cover up in development. We have several people who if given a day break will push theirs with almost ten days because they have personal things to attend to and the government work is left undone. This mostly is seen in the government establishments because the private institutions will not accept that at all.
Many people working with the government don't boarder so much because they know they will get to be paid their salary's at the end of the month whether they go to work or not. The rate of truancy in most government organization is alarming hence there is a need to review things in order to have balance. There are certain holidays that aren't necessary at all. Many people are becoming very lazy and not faithful to assignment given to them. I have a friend that worked with private organization for couple of years. He is well exposed and learned.
Holidays are very important moments that allows individuals and organizations to reset themselves for better output. Holidays gives one the opportunity to be refreshed and regain strength to be more productive.
In conclusion, there is need to balance everything that we do. Let the break not be too much and workers should be encouraged to put more efforts.
