Hi wonderful family. Today is a significant day in my beautiful country where we celebrate the heroes of the nation and the entire citizens. First and foremost welcome to the month of October where it's normally celebrated in Nigeria as independence. It's a day where we got our independence. Previously we have been under the colonial masters who treated our fathers as slaves and their subjects. Nigeria have been given total freedom to operate and behave as a nation.
When I stumbled on this post, I was carried away because it's time to share some thoughts about children. As a parent, I have high regards for my kids that the Lord has blessed me with and I desire the very best for all of them. Whatever we do in life, one must learn to balance everything so that one side won't be affected. The big question is do kids do need privacy? Oh yes the answer remains capital Yes. Privacy does a lot of things in their lives. It really builds their confidence and act of responsibility. You can't just have a child and cage them unnecessarily because they possess lots of potential that needs to start finding expression from the tender stage. When you don't start from the scratch, it may be affected. There are times where you see some teens develop sufficient capacity and know their identity which will build their self worth. Over monitoring children can make them feel not secured.
The privacy of a kid depends on several factors. I just believe that every child is unique and every parent should endeavor to identify this kind of special ability. This can be done by creating a space for them where they can exercise themselves to unleash their potentials. When giving them privacy, that doesn't neglect the fact that parents won't monitor their movement.
In as much as kids privacy is important parents should know that it can be a bit crafty in the area of creating balance. Another reason why kids privacy is good is in the area of health and trust development. This would help them know that their input is greatly appreciated. Parents must develop the right technique and strategies in ensuring that their children don't go beyond boundaries so that their relationship and behavior will be safe and healthy.
Balancing this issue of privacy can be termed based on one's age. The way you would treat a toddler or handle him is different from the way teenagers are being treated. Therefore in an attempt to maintain balance, parents should be able to regulate the open day. As the child keeps growing to a point, it's expedient that parents would start introducing them to another dimension of responsibility so that they would be properly fortified for life's journey.
Parents must be deliberate in teaching their children the right values for self reliance. They shouldn't be kept in privacy always instead there's need for them to be opened. Often times I do tell my children not to hide anything and they should try and express themselves incase something goes wrong in their lives.
