One minute we were shouting Happy New Year, and the next, we are counting the few remaining months of 2025. Time really does fly faster than we expect. For some people, this year has been filled with joy, breakthroughs, and answered prayers. For others, it has been full of setbacks, disappointments, and lessons they never thought they would have to learn. For me, 2025 has been a mixture of both, the good and the bad, but in all, I can say it has been a year of growth.
A lot of good things have happened to me this year, one of which is being appointed as one of the youth heads in my church. This was quite recent, and I must say that the responsibility that comes with this role is no joke. It’s not just a small church, but the headquarters of the main branch in the whole city where I live. There are so many things to be done, and so much to put in place, but it has also given me the opportunity for people to recognize my skills. Different trainings and appointments have already been booked for me, and I will even be traveling to different parts of Nigeria. Starting from next month, I will be attending a business class, and I can say I am really looking forward to it.
Another good thing that happened this year is the starting of the construction of the three shops at my dads place. A lot of time and resources have been put into it, and although it is not completed yet, I am very glad that at least it has started. For me, that’s already a step of progress worth celebrating.
One of the bad things that happened to me this year was the cancellation of a project I was heading in the company I worked for. We hadn’t gone too far into the project, but I had high hopes for it because of the potential it carried. Unfortunately, due to reasons I would rather not talk about, the CEO had to put a stop to it. It was disappointing, but I took it as one of those things that happen in life.
I don’t think I made any New Year resolutions this year, I can't even remember any but I had my plans. Even though I have not completed all of them, I strongly believe that as long as there is life, there is hope. 2025 has taught me that the good and bad will always mix together, but what matters most is the lessons we learn while moving forward.
