You know how you meet a girl you like and then find out she's from another tribe and speaks a different language, but she's so fine, and you want to impress her by speaking her language? Yep, that's me. You might be wondering how I got myself learning a language from my friend, who knows how to speak French but ended up chasing the girl away.
I am on so many Web2 and Web3 social media platforms, and I made a friend from France on Snapchat. She speaks English, but as soon as she told me she was from France, I immediately sent "Bonjour," then added "Comma sava?" if that was even right, and she laughed. Guess what? Those are some of the only French words I knew, but she was happy I was trying.
Everything was going well, then I remembered my friend was good at French. Why not ask him for some words? Then I can impress Rachel. That was a wrong idea, actually.
My brother, who was meant to have my back, I went to him and told him the story of how I met Rachel, and I would like to impress her with some French, and the first thing he asked was, "What about your babe?"
Babe? Bro, just help me. I will tell you what I wanted to say, and then you will translate. If I had known, I should have just used Google Translate. It started off nicely; I was always in bro Dm day and night asking questions like "What is she saying?" and "Translate this for me."
Until one day, she sent me a text saying, "Who is the person that has been translating for you?" I was surprised at how she knew.
Translating? What translating? I speak French. She did not believe it, and then she said the whole conversation we have been having was
"He doesn't speak English and he has been disturbing me to translate for him and I am tired," then she asked in French
"How are you?" and he replied,
"His secret translator"
That was how she knew.
So in case you see a guy with a bag on his head and he is on the run, who knows how to speak French. Send me the address; he escaped from the place I kept him before.
Thanks for reading. My name is Fashtioluwa.
