Last week my elderly grandmother walked into the emergency room. She needed surgery but it was decided to instead keep her comfortable in the Palliative care unit.
I headed out to see her, and to say good bye. The next day she couldn't communicate and was in pain. After speaking with the wonderful doctors and staff at St Paul's hospital, we increased her pain drugs.
On Thursday night, the shift nurse found her unresponsive and the doctor pronounced she had passed away.

She lived a full wonderful life, to 103 years old and left peacefully.
This week we will be having the funeral and burial. I feel so sad for my father as she was his mother for 80 years. Rest peacefully
