I often say that in this city where I live there is not much variety of food. Yes, right. However, there is one thing that stands out about this city, when it comes to food. That is fish. What's with the fish?
Maluku province, where I currently live, is an archipelago that only has 7.6 % land area, while 92.4 % of this province's area is ocean. The city of Masohi where I live is also surrounded by the ocean. So, do not be surprised if here there are so many types of seafood that can be eaten in very fresh conditions. Especially from the type of fish. There are so many sellers of fresh fish from the sea here. This fresh fish tastes sweeter. Very different from the fish that can be found in other big cities. Really fresh. And this is recognized by the visitors who have come here. Some friends who used to live here and moved to another city said that what can't be forgotten from this city is the fresh fish. Very healthy isn't it?
That night I visited one of the stalls selling my favorite fish preparations. Its name is “Warung Ikan Bakar Bambu Kuning / Yellow Bamboo Grilled Fish Stall”.
This stall does not only sell grilled fish preparations, but there are also processed fish with gravy. The types of fish provided are also very diverse. There are types of brittle, skipjack, red snapper, mackerel and many more. And also there are many choices of fish sizes.
GRILLED FISH
In this stall, the grilled fish that are sold are given a red spice that tastes sweet and spicy. The color and aroma are very tempting. I ordered the grilled flaky fish which was not too big.
GRAVY FISH
There are 2 variations of the gravy fish that is sold in this shop. Namely yellow gravy fish and clear gravy fish. But this time I ordered the brittle yellow gravy fish. It tastes very fresh. Plus the sweet taste of fish. Very appetizing.
This stall provides 2 types of sambal as a companion to the grilled fish food served. There is chili sauce and colo-colo sauce (a typical sauce in Maluku).

For carbohydrates, we can choose plain rice or coconut rice. This time I ordered coconut rice.
The price of this food depends on the size and type of fish. For what I ordered, medium-sized brittle grilled fish costs 45000 rupiah. Meanwhile, for medium-sized brittle yellow gravy fish, the price is 35000 rupiah. I think the price is quite cheap. Because I've bought fish of this type in another city at a higher price. Plus the fish sold here is very fresh because it is very close to the sea.
That's why I can say, the fish food here is the winner. The taste is completely different. Fresh and sweet. For this one I can be proud of this city.
