Respect is one of the most important value we need in life. It means treating people well, listening to what they have to say and seeing them as important. Respect makes relationship stronger and even helps to keep peace in families, schools and communities. Without it, people will just keep fighting because everyone is thinking only about themselves.
Respect starts from how we act to others. Simple things like greeting people, saying thank you, speaking in a polite way – all this show that we value them. Respect is not just for older people or those in power. Everyone deserve respect no matter their age, where they come from or who they are.

A big important part of respect is Listening. Giving someone full attention when they are talking to you shows that you respect them and that you care about what they are saying.
Agreeing with people is not something that you will always have to do , but then you should also learn to respect their view, if you keep cutting them off or ignoring them , it is a form of disrespect.
We must not also forget that you are likely to make better choices when you respect yourself, this has a way of protecting your dignity
Respect even helps to stop fight and quarrels. People are less likely to get angry if they are valued and feel respected. Even their appears to be any form of disagreement , speaking in a respectful manner will make solution easy to find.

Respect is not always in big actions. It is in small things like returning things you borrowed, waiting for your turn and keeping your promises. This small acts may look simple but they build trust slowly over time.
