In the mind of most people, they have this opinion that they are very good when listening to people, but the reality is that we just listen just to have enough that will enable us to jump into conclusion or maybe our own reply.
Most people mind are already racing ahead even while the other person is still talking, they are already planning how to defend themselves, sound smart , or even what to say.
That is okay , but the truth behind this is that when we are too quick to make our own point , we end up missing the heart of what the person actually wants to say.
When it comes to real listening , it feels very different, people feel safe, and things have a way of slowing things down. This has a way of growing trust.

You need to cultivate a very good listening skills. Your workers we feel much appreciated and immense their self in the work if they feel part of the project , and part of it is being heard. They feel heard and valued. In such atmosphere, It becomes much easier to find solutions and work as a team.
Even our personal live needs this very well, if we give our friends listening ear especially when they are going through a lot, advice is not something they need most times. Attention, no rush to judgement, being present and letting them to talk are some of the things that they sometimes need. In most situation , listening means more to them than advice.
