Motivation is okay , but can be very unreliable. Some days it is strong, other days it is weak. A better approach is to build routines that make deep work automatic. In sports, a perfect example of this is Cristiano Ronaldo, he do not wait until he feels inspired before training. rather, he built a system, he set schedule that he follows every day, whether he feel like it or not. ![1000001479.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmZBsj29bKUjFJEEcAwRih9wJq1qUjNoMs6q79ztcyd4Hx/1000001479.jpg) [Source](https://unsplash.com/photos/a-man-holding-a-barbell-in-a-gym-wMcDTlmiim0?utm_content=creditShareLink&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=unsplash) With the help of this routine , they are now likely to be consistent and perform at their best. you can also apply this principle to your learning and study. Another good example of this is a university student that is preparing for final exams. In other to build a good system that is built on willpower, the student might decide to set a fixed study block every morning from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. as time goes on, the brain will become accustomed to this. so you see instead of the student studying when he feels like, he now built a system that allows him to study every day. The same can work in the workplace. My bro who is a software developer working on a big project what he normally do is to set aside the first two hours of each workday for uninterrupted coding. No meetings, no emails, no distractions. this allowed him more progress So what am i trying to say , building a strong routine reduces your dependency on will power. Instead of asking yourself, “Do I feel like working now?” the routine answers the question for you. The time and place are already set, so all you need to do is show up. If you want to try this, pick a specific time and location for one important task each day. Protect that time from interruptions. Your first time of trying this might not be easy but like every other habit, it will gradually sink into you and become a natural part of you.
