It actuallu feels so good to start a new habit ,but after some days or weeks must have passed, you tend to encounter the other side of life.
Work gets you busy, you feel tired or maybe not in the mood, then all of a sudden , that one habit that you were once excited about starts slipping away. Starting is not the problem, but staying consistent is the problem.
So in this post , i will actually share with you guys some of the best tricks that i have learnt so far in other to stay consistent with a habit.

1) Don't miss the habit two times in a row: It is normal and okay to miss a habit once, nobody is perfect, but the real problem is if you allow that single day you missed to turn into two , three, weeks, then all of a sudden , the habit is gone.
If you miss a habit today, ensure that you turn up the next day.
2) Tracking your habits: This can be as basic as ticking your calendar to actually know your streak. You get motivated when you watch your streak Grow , this is because you would not want to break the chain.
3) Accountability: In some cases , i do bet against myself, Let us say that i want to read a particular chapter, i will then tell a friend that once i did not show up to the library to read a book, i will pay her a certain amount of money, this makes me accountable and keeps me going even when i don't want to.

Then the last of it all is keeping the habit small and realistic. When the habit is still at the early stages, trying to do too much can lead to burnout. You can start with as little as five minutes of the habit per day, it is all about showing up and allowing the habit to become part of you.
