Just like our earthly father's won't allow anything evil to happen to us then talk more of our father which is in heaven.
There are some things that God allows to come close to us not everything, and to anything that happens there is a reason, I don't believe that thing just happen like that without a reason and purpose.
If God allows evil to happen then it must be to glorify his name, but what he won't allow is for that evil to consume us his children, then if he allows good it must also be for a purpose.
God knows what's best, he knows what will happen, when it will and why he allowed it and we can't question or become angry with him because anything he does is just perfect for us.
But if you are a genuine child of God know that he won't allow any evil to come near your dwelling nor any harm come near us.
So in any situation you find yourself give thanks to God because he knoweth all things.
