Alot of questions like “Should I choose College of Nursing or University? Which is better?” This questions keeps coming from aspirants. Let me make it clear, I have always dreamed of studying nursing in the university (UNICAL : University Of Calabar, Nigeria), because I used to think that nursing in university is better, but I ended up studying in Abia State College of Nursing Sciences (ASCONS), Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria.
Here’s the truth nobody tells you that I want you to know today: It’s not about where you started either College or University. What truly defines a nurse is the passion, discipline, and compassion you put into the journey. At the end of the day, patients don’t ask whether you trained in a college or university, they care about how well you care for them. So, if you’re an aspirant worrying about which route to choose, remember: it’s not the uniform or the school name that makes the nurse, it’s the heart behind the service.
If you’re the kind of person who loves more of practical, hands-on, and a straight path into the nursing profession college might fit you. And If then you’re the type who loves research, a wide learning environment, and maybe wants to branch into academics later, you might consider the university to be your lane.
I keep telling aspirant, neither is better, it's about what is better for you, go for the one you can afford and discipline yourself to learn, go to work to achieve your dreams. Kuddod!!💪👍
