Bitcoin Core just pushed for a development nobody really wanted. According to [Bitcoin University](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkWc2jibQ_A) you can now put 100.000 Bytes of Data into the OP_Return part of the transaction instead of 83 Bytes. The change was already merged into [Bitcoin Github](https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin) and will be activated in October 2025.
Node software "Knots" is a version where you can keep the limit to 83 Bytes. Let's see if this results into a Hardfork once the Update gets live at the end of the year. Until now there is 0 awareness outside of Bitcoin that this is happening.
