she arrives with her eyes closed only to awaken with the startling sound of flight the starling sings their song and she listens with her body floating above the sky where no one can touch her soul unbound unanchored
We sat down to grab some lunch when the **Red-winged Starling* decided to also grab some lunch with us. In fact, it thought about grabbing *our* lunch for herself! We needed to share what we had with her, as that was just the rules.
I could not grab my camera quick enough, as it was almost like she posed for me. In her new feathers, the sun made her look like a model.
Our food arrived, and we shared, even against our will. But then she decided to fly off, maybe feeding some of our food with her chicks somewhere.
Just as quick as the moment came about, so quick it also ended.
Are we not always blessed with the beauty of nature, especially in her fleeting nature, providing us only snippets of how she looks? Are we not the ultimate witnesses of both her beauty but also our destructive tendencies that conceal this beauty?

For a moment, it looked like she also contemplated the nature of life, the relationship I was pondering between the world and humans. It seemed to me that she agreed, even if only for a moment, that it was a rather strange relationship: we humans rely on the thing we destroy the most. How strange and how short sighted. The hubris of humans.

The moment ended when she flew away, into the sun. The only remnants of this mythical moment was a couple of silhouette shots. She danced on the roof, almost like she was mocking me, and then she became one with the sun, in some primordial myth enacted right in front of my eyes.
Either way, it was a beautiful moment.
