@danielvehe is someone I’ve followed closely since we first got into this space back in 2018. I still remember meeting him and Enmy at a planned sit-down in the food court of C.C.C. Tamanaco, right in the heart of Las Mercedes, Miranda—part of the greater Caracas metro area. Recently, he published two sharp takes: one on [how to earn automatic votes on Hive](https://peakd.com/hive-189306/@danielvehe/como-obtener-votos-automaticos-marca), and another on [being a predictable creator](https://peakd.com/hive-189306/@danielvehe/se-un-creador-predecible-en)—both tied to the role of personal branding in our ownership-driven community. As expected, the posts sparked mixed reactions: some pushed back, others leaned in. That friction got us thinking about how we could contribute through observation and analysis, especially after reading someone say, “Personal branding is outdated—that’s boomer stuff.” I won’t name names, but that take genuinely disappointed me. One thing I’ve learned from the sales world is this: *we’re all selling something from the moment we’re born.* Why? Because even a baby “sells” its cry to get attention.

@danielvehe’s post reframes “automatic votes” on Hive as signals of trust—not technical hacks or editorial gimmicks. He breaks down how these votes are earned through a consistent, authentic personal brand that delivers real value to the community. Instead of chasing shortcuts, he advocates for building reputation through genuine engagement, quality content, and sustained presence. For any new hiver, this mindset is gold—it shows that success on Hive hinges more on strategic positioning than just publishing frequency. It’s a highly replicable lesson, perfect for onboarding workshops where newcomers can learn to articulate their value proposition and build credibility from day one. As often happens in our global community, Daniel had to follow up with a deeper dive into his thesis, introducing the idea of being a “predictable creator.” And of course, some pushed back while others backed him up. That’s Hive. I encourage you to read both pieces and draw your own conclusions—they’re packed with insight and worth your time.

In these last two blocks of our post, I’m speaking from the trenches—as a creator. There’s some truth to the line floating around in Daniel’s comment section: “I’m free to post whatever I want.” But that freedom has limits. Every hiver plays a semi-defined role in our global ecosystem. I only really grasped that in 2023. Some folks post to pad their income, others because it’s cathartic, and some are just genuinely passionate about their niche. But I’ve always said: once you truly understand what Hive is, you’ll land on the same conclusion we did after digging deep—Hive is a blockchain where you build businesses. It’s funny now, but back in 2020 we floated the idea of taking a tiny cut from the rewards of authors posting under @fulldeportes. Community leaders came down hard, and the pressure from our voting base made us shelve it. Still, the idea holds water. No service should be expected to run forever without some form of sustainability.

At @fulldeportes, we teach, mentor, and actively boost creators through our feed—and that work has real value. Same goes for any hiver building out a niche. One idea we liked from the @leofinance community was the subscription model: creators can choose to “mute” their content for readers who aren’t paying. Sure, it’s a controversial concept—knowledge and words should be free, right? Fair enough. But how’s a creator supposed to stay afloat without some kind of support system? That’s where things intersect: LEO’s model, Daniel’s posts, and the hiver who said “personal branding is for boomers.” If you’re trying to monetize your content and make a living from it, you *have* to build your personal brand. There’s no workaround. Ask any influencer—it’s hours and hours of grind. And let me double down on something we’ve always said: Hive isn’t just a content creation platform. That phase is just the warm-up. Hive is where your dream of owning something—your brand, your business, your impact—can actually become real. But only if you’re willing to put in the work.
