La libertad hecha tarjeta... (ESP/ENG) || OPINION

Finalmente ha llegado a nuestro regazo. Recuerdo haber "subido la mano" en "X" mediante un post de @threespeak en esa red social, cuando preguntaron al aire quien deseaba una. Imagino a @starkerz apiadado de este servidor y actuando en consecuencia. Es increíble, pero nos vimos personalmente el año pasado en LABITCONF en Buenos Aires y él no las cargaba encima (las tarjetas). Así las cosas, mucho viajó el plástico antes de aterrizar a nuestras manos. Por supuesto, la primera impresión cuenta y el diseño minimalista pensado para el anverso de la tarjeta es único, además de global: la representación del escudo de la Asociación Brasileña de Fútbol, con las palabras "Hive Debit" del lado izquierdo inferior y un guiño a una de las marcas establecidas de medios de pago, con un logo donde se mezclan los escudos de HIVE y BITCOIN del lado superior derecho ¿quien tuvo la gentileza de entregar finalmente el envío a este redactor?: @edmundochauran. Vaya usted a saber por cuales otras manos pasó el plástico para llegar hasta nosotros, pero si por casualidad usted es uno de los eslabones de esa cadena, también le agradezco el favor de haberla hecho llegar. #

It finally landed in my hands. I remember raising my hand on X through a post by @threespeak when they casually asked who wanted one. I imagine @starkerz took pity on this humble editor and made it happen. Crazy thing is, we met in person last year at LABITCONF in Buenos Aires, and he wasn’t carrying any of the cards at the time. So yeah, this piece of plastic traveled far before touching down here. First impressions matter, and the minimalist design on the front is both unique and global: it features the Brazilian Football Association’s crest, “Hive Debit” stamped on the lower left, and a nod to legacy payment brands with a hybrid logo that fuses HIVE and BITCOIN in the top right corner. And who finally handed it off to this writer? That’d be @edmundochauran. Who knows how many hands this card passed through before reaching me—but if you happened to be one of those links in the chain, I owe you a solid.

Una de las brechas que tenía nuestra cadena propietaria, era la interoperabilidad con Bitcoin y su larga cantidad de opciones disponibles para el intercambio transparente de valores, algo que fue resuelto hace ya bastante tiempo pero que la mayoría de hivers aún no han escalado. Por ejemplo: ¿Sabía usted que puede obtener una tarjeta de débito digital de HIVE sin necesidad de tener el plástico en sus manos? Pues sí, solo ha de seguir las instrucciones del usuario @hivedebit y hacerse de una cuenta que le proporcionarán para manejar sus $HBD mediante nuestra cadena de bloques con pago transparente, en aquellos fondos de comercio alrededor del mundo que reciban pagos de la red Lightning Bitcoin. Uno de los trabajos más lindos que se han hecho respecto a la economía circular, lo ha adelantado @hivesucre y su gran comunidad de hivers. En aquel estado de Venezuela, muchos comercios se han afiliado a @spendhbd para usar a @distriator como medio de pago. Sin embargo, tal trabajo se ha encontrado con desafíos dentro de nuestras fronteras y el más grande de ellos ha sido explicado por @ecoinstant en su escrito [HBD y dólares en Latinoamérica](https://peakd.com/hive-122315/@ecoinstant/hbd-and-dollars-in-latin-amercia-issues-treatment-and-concerns). Allí el desarmó el entramado mediante el cual ha quedado en pausa el trabajo que @hivesucre ha venido haciendo. Es importante remarcar el asunto, porque como comunidad propietaria global, nos es importantísimo estar informados sobre aquello que está afectando las iniciativas de @hiveio y todos los testigos. Además, son inversiones hechas de buena fe y pensadas para adelantar la mentada interoperabilidad de la cual hemos venido hablando en párrafos anteriores. #

One of the most inspiring circular economy efforts has come out of @hivesucre and its powerhouse community of Hivers. In that Venezuelan state, tons of local businesses have teamed up with @spendhbd to use @distriator as a payment gateway. But the rollout hit some bumps inside our borders, and the biggest one was unpacked by @ecoinstant in his write-up [HBD and Dollars in Latin America](https://peakd.com/hive-122315/@ecoinstant/hbd-and-dollars-in-latin-amercia-issues-treatment-and-concerns). He broke down the tangled web that’s put @hivesucre’s work on pause. It’s crucial we spotlight this, because as a global owner-operated community, we need to stay sharp on what’s impacting @hiveio and all our witnesses. These are good-faith investments aimed at pushing the very interoperability we’ve been talking about all along.

La imagen arriba tomada, corresponde al Parque Nacional Mochima, una de nuestras paradas en nuestro viaje al oriente del país. Fue un día después de reunirme con Edmundo y allí, en ese lugar, sentimos una libertad como nunca antes. Tenía la tarjeta HIVE Debit en nuestra billetera y pensaba sobre como la tecnología ha cambiado nuestras vidas de un modo tan dramático. Soy de la generación que vivió la época del floppy de 8 pulgadas y las tarjetas perforadas. He tenido el privilegio de ver el cambio a través del tiempo. Cuando internet escaló como solución, nos dimos cuenta que asistíamos a una revolución como nunca antes la había visto el hombre. Era escéptico como cualquier otro cuando las Cripto estallaron en la economía mundial. Llegué 8 años retardado al ecosistema, sin embargo, adelantado otros 8 años respecto a quienes no se han montado aún en ésta revolución. The photo up top was taken at Mochima National Park, one of our stops during a trip to Venezuela’s eastern coast. It was the day after I met with Edmundo, and in that place, we felt a kind of freedom that’s hard to describe. I had the HIVE Debit Card in my wallet and couldn’t stop thinking about how tech has flipped our lives upside down. I’m from the generation that lived through 8-inch floppies and punch cards. I’ve had the privilege of watching the shift unfold over time. When the internet scaled as a solution, we knew we were witnessing a revolution like no other. I was skeptical—just like anyone—when crypto exploded onto the global economy. I showed up eight years late to the ecosystem, but I’m still eight years ahead of those who haven’t jumped in yet.
