En la división oeste de la liga Americana, los Astros de Houston han visto como se borra la diferencia de varios juegos que tenían sobre los Marineros de Seattle. Mientras los siderales han jugado para 5-5 en sus últimos 10 partidos, los nautas ligaron para balance de 9-1 reduciendo la brecha a un solo juego de separación. Houston’s been a work-in-progress miracle, with 14 guys from their roster hitting the IL and now trickling back into the lineup. The road back looks a bit steeper for Texas—stellar rotation, but their bats have gone ice-cold, and if they don’t wake up soon, one of the two teams ahead might just leave them in the dust. La división central de la liga Americana está enseñoreada por los Tigres de Detroit quienes también han jugado para balance 5-5, pero a diferencia de Houston han podido mantener la ventaja apegados a su buen arranque de temporada. Los Guardianes de Cleveland han recortado esa ventaja jugando para balance de 8-2 en sus últimos 10 juegos. Están a un solo juego del comodín y se entenderá si al final de la temporada quedan afuera de la pelea ¿La razón? Los tímidos movimientos antes de la fecha límite de cambios, la cual no les vio moverse con agresividad. Kansas City está a 4 juegos del comodín, pero creo la verdad, ya no podrán alcanzar a los felinos y tendrán que concentrarse en dar alcance a los Guardianes. Así las cosas, el cuidado que debe tener Detroit es no caer en triunfalismos y seguir con la vista en el premio mayor. The real question isn’t if Philly’s making the postseason—it’s by how much. Eyes are on them.
