Another chance to let the brushes fly and dance across homemade canvases. @stow01 sparked this new gathering alongside @aventurerasbike, and we had the privilege of hosting a truly special crew at home: the iron-horse sisters known as “Aventureras Bike.” @sherescolche, @kwarkyria, Yvonne, Claudia, Alicia, Anahys, Gabimar, and Manuel joined this editor for a fresh night of wine, snacks, canvases, and brushwork. The meetup was set for 7 PM, but the crew rolled in closer to eight. Earlier, @stow01 had already dialed in the setup—lined up brushes, paints, markers, sketch pencils, and wrapped the kitchen table and pantry surfaces for splash-proof action. @aventurerasbike hit the streets for wine and goodies, while the guests pitched in with bites to share: pizza, cassava crisps, cheeses, spirits—basically anything that fed the craving for a proper nibble fest.

@stow01 took the lead, laying out four design options for those who didn’t feel like letting their imagination run wild—whether out of fatigue or just comfort. But just like last time, anyone who felt like making life harder for themselves was free to go rogue. And why do I say “harder”? Well, I spelled it out in [this post](https://peakd.com/hive-130560/@fermionico/painting-party-espeng-arts-gallery-8ta): sketching and making art doesn’t come easy to me. That said, I chose to paint the logo of our homegrown community. With “Uptober” kicking off and the buzz around the next bull cycle building—especially with Bitcoin’s halving on the horizon—I wanted the logo next to the moon, like the painting was shouting: “Hive to the moon.” In crypto circles, that phrase is pure optimism. For those of us mining Web3, it signals harvest season. Everything shifts before, during, and after that moment. Just like these gatherings, where the human side, the vulnerable self, the inner child—all of it comes out and gets shared with whoever shows up.

This time I got off to a better start than my last go-around—the sketch came together super easily. But the moment we hit the stage where brushes and paint entered the scene, things got tangled fast. Blacking out the cosmic background? No sweat. But trying to layer paint into the logo and make those lunar craters pop? That shaved years off my life. Okay, I’m exaggerating—but that tension comes straight from perfectionism. I forgot the lesson from last time: it’s all about having a blast. It’s the sharing, the laughs, the jokes, the vibe. Never just the canvas and brush. Still, since peace of mind is always a work in progress, I just rolled with it and gave it my best shot. The whole crew looked like seasoned pros, as you’ll see in the pics sprinkled throughout this post. It’s wild how much magic color can bring to a blank canvas. And now that we’ve felt the grind of making art, I’ve got even more respect for those who live this craft.

Cold water paint goes a long way. It’s wild—after two full nights and a bunch of canvases, we still had enough pigment left for another round. This time, only one design got repeated: Claudia and @kwarkyria both picked one of @stow01’s proposals. The twist? Claudia added the phrase “The sun shines for everyone” inside the solar circle—a nod to the idea that life, at its core, offers beauty, renewal, and opportunity without bias. Once the paintings were done, just like before, everyone shared what their piece meant, why they chose the theme, and how they felt about the night. Nothing oils the gears of friendship like a good hangout. These women are a phenomenal crew—what we’d call “solid” in good old criollo. Same fears, same hopes, same dreams as anyone else. But one undeniable truth: they’re souls who make the world and other people’s lives better.
