Today I want to make a confession. For several days now, I have been mulling over the same idea, about the possibility of interacting with Hive, understood as a new lifestyle, a way of being in the world. In other words, my reflection has revolved around the question: Can Hive be experienced as a lifestyle?
I don't want to fall into the cliché of merely creating content promoted by the large number of social networks in the blockchain ecosystem. Rather, based on what can be understood as the philosophy of Hive or web3, starting from the contemplation of aspects such as decentralization, non-censorship, scalability, speed, and community, I want to explore how we can move towards a way of living, that is, in the realm of action beyond the digital.
In this sense, I would like to try to reveal (I assume it is possible) the ethos of Hive, and I am not saying that this is something I possess, but rather that it is a phenomenon that is there with a certain openness, or so it seems to me. Ethos is nothing more than the set of traits that make up a certain character, and I think that philosophically speaking, it is interesting to think of WEB3 as a character. Let us return rhetorically to more than 2000 years ago, when the Stoics and Epicureans roamed the Acropolis. Some cultivated practices according to reason, others according to pleasure, respectively. In that sense, what is the ethos to be underpinned in the case of Hive or Web3?
I believe that at least three key elements must be understood: decentralization, freedom, and community. So, based on these pillars, we must outline what a “web3 lifestyle” would entail, not only as an activity in a virtual environment, but also as a physical activity, or in other words, a life consistent with values such as autonomy, cooperation, and resistance to centralized control.
There are at least three paths, or at least that is what I have discerned in this regard: the path of technology as the horizon of existence; the path of caring for oneself and others; and the path of posthumanism. I feel that each of these complements the others to outline the Hive way of being. The path of technology as the horizon of existence lies in the possibility of exercising co-creation. Faced with a digital ecosystem already provided by large technology companies in web3, the idea is to reverse this by giving each person the freedom to create and build projects, in other words, to be a co-creator of the ecosystem. Only in this sense would technology not make us alienated subjects but, on the contrary, make us aware of the community.
What was said in the previous paragraph leads us to the second path, that of “caring for oneself and others.” Caring for oneself and others begins with practices that promote awareness of who I am in the world and how I relate to others. In the context of Hive, we could say that it all begins with content creation and continues with learning about Hive and web3, and is maintained through constant interaction with others. These are practices of contextualized self-construction, since I am not just an island, but a bridge that connects with other bridges.
And finally, the third way, which seeks to contemplate Hive as a horizon for posthumanism, since we could understand blockchain not as a digital tool, but as a place where there is shared existence. It is a condition of possibility for whatever it is that humans are to rethink their existence as a kind of coexistence that starts from the digital and extends outward.
Now, experiencing Hive as a lifestyle goes beyond creating content on the network's social media, although it starts there and continues with the understanding and internalization of values, in order to somehow experience them inside and outside the blockchain, which would make Hive a way of inhabiting the world.
That said, it should be made clear that not all ideas have been presented. I have only focused on the philosophical aspect of values and have not looked at the economic side of blockchain because, in that sense, it is interesting to see how money works and even more interesting to see how politics is built, as this could shed light on new ways of understanding value and power.

# Hive ¿Un nuevo estilo de vida? Hoy quiero hacer una confesión, desde hace varios días he rumiado una misma idea, sobre la posibilidad de interactuar con Hive, entendiéndose como un nuevo estilo de vida, un modo de ser en el mundo. En otras palabras, mi reflexión ha girado en torno a la pregunta ¿Se puede experimentar a Hive como un estilo de vida? No quiero caer en el cliché de quedarnos en la mera creación de contenido aupado por el gran número de redes sociales en el ecosistema de la blockchain, sino que, basados en lo que puede ser entendido como la filosofía de Hive o web3, partiendo desde la contemplación de aspectos como la descentralización, la no censura, la escalabilidad, rapidez y la comunidad, poder movernos en un modo de vivir, es decir, en el ámbito de la acción más allá de lo digital.  En este sentido, me gustaría intentar develar (asumo que es posible) el ethos de Hive, y no digo con esto que sea algo que yo posea, sino, que es un fenómeno que está allí con cierta apertura o eso me lo parece. El ethos no es otra cosa que ese conjunto de rasgos que componen cierto carácter, y creo que filosóficamente hablando es interesante pensar la WEB3 como un carácter. Volvamos de manera retórica a hace más de 2000 años, cuando los estoicos y epicúreos deambulaban por la acrópolis. Unos cultivaban prácticas conforme a la razón, otros al placer, respectivamente. En ese sentido ¿Cuál es el ethos a apuntalar en el caso de Hive o Web3? Creo que por lo menos habría que comprender tres elementos clave: la descentralización, la libertad y la comunidad. Así que, basándonos en estos pilares, debemos esbozar lo que vendría hacer un “estilo de vida web3” y no solo como una actividad en un entorno virtual, sino que además debe ser una actividad física o en otras palabras, una vida coherente con valores como la autonomía, cooperación, resistencia a un ejercicio de control centralizado. Hay al menos 3 caminos o por lo menos son los que he discernido en este sentido, el camino de la tecnología como horizonte de la existencia; el camino del cuidado de sí y del otro; y el camino del poshumanismo. Siento que cada uno de ellos se complementan para perfilar el modo de ser de Hive. El camino de la tecnología como horizonte de la existencia radica en la posibilidad de ejercer la co-creación, frente a un ecosistema digital ya dado por grandes tecnológicas en web3 se plantea revertir esto dotando a cada persona de la libertad de crear y edificar proyectos, en otras palabras poder ser co-creador del ecosistema. Solo en este sentido la tecnología no nos haría sujetos alienados sino todo lo contrario, nos haría tener presente a la comunidad.  Lo dicho en el párrafo anterior nos conduce a la segunda de las vías, la del “cuidado de sí y del otro”. El cuidado de sí y del otro comienza con prácticas que promueven la concientización de lo que soy en el mundo y como me vinculo con el otro, en el contexto de Hive podríamos decir que todo comienza con la creación de contenido y continua con el aprendizaje de Hive y web3, y se mantiene en la constante interacción con los otros, siendo esto unas prácticas de una auto-construcción contextualizada, ya que no soy solo una isla, sino que soy un puente que conecta con otros puentes. Y por último la tercera vía, que trata de contemplar a Hive como un horizonte para el poshumanismo, ya que podríamos entender la blockchian no como una herramienta digital, sino como un lugar donde hay existencia compartida, es una condición de posibilidad para que lo que sea que sea el humano pueda repensar su existencia como una suerte de co-existencia que parte de lo digital y se extiende fuera. Ahora bien, experimentar a Hive como un estilo de vida va más allá de la creación de contenido en las redes sociales de la red, aunque desde allí parte y continúa con la comprensión de los valores y la interiorización de los mismos, para de algún modo vivenciarlos dentro y fuera de la blockchain, lo que haría de Hive un modo de habitar en el mundo. Dicho todo esto, hay que dejar en claro que no todas las ideas han sido expuestas, solo me he quedado con lo filosófico de los valores, no he posado mi mirada en lo económico de la blockchain porque en ese sentido resulta interesante cómo funcionan el dinero y aún más interesante cómo se edifica la política, ya que podría arrojar luces a nuevos modos de comprender el valor y el poder. *Imagenes hechas en Canva* *Logo de Hive hive.io*
