There was no full blood moon eclipse in McGregor on Sunday. Not because we are not of this world, but rather because of cloudy skies. I had to make do with Monday's just-past-full moon.
Let me explain:
It's not often that we can experience a lunar eclipse at a convenient time, and by that I mean not at the dead of night between 12 and 5am or in the dead of winter, and when going out in one's pyjamas is far from sensible.
So, when I discovered that Sunday's eclipse would be most visible from around 7 to 10 pm, I decided to invite a few people around so that we could share the spectacle together. During the course of the afternoon, the clouds lifted and I hoped they'd stay away so that, at least, we could enjoy at least one sighting of the event.
'Twas not to be.
I had to make do with a vicarious experience - other people's photographs.
